In-Game Lag Issues (Mac)

Hey guys, I recently quit WoW because I could not stand the amount of lag my computer was taking. I have a Mac OSX 10.5.8. For some reason I always wanted a mac but as I got more and more into WoW I learned that Mac's don't make good gaming computers. So here is my issue. I don't got enough money for any Alien-ware shit and I really don't plan on buying a new desktop or laptop this Christmas just for WoW. So my concern is, do any of you mac users out there have a solution to the crazy lag issues in WoW? Also, my friend showed my a virtual machine program called Parallels. Would using Parallels on my computer to turn it window-based have any effect on the lag issue?

EDIT: I would post this on the WoW website but I ran out of membership and don't want to buy membership until I find a solution ^_^
