I'm 20 and drive a 1.2 and get charged £350 a year fully comp as a named driver on parents policy - but I have also passed my IAM test so that brought it down quite abit.

I hear the ASDA do very cheap insurance though.

I've heard about the tesco insurance, will need to look for up for ASDA.

Just make your dad buy it and take insurance on him - it will be cheaper ;)

Congratz dude. I barely passed mine lol. He noted 2 mistakes, but there was actually only 1 (and another mistake he didn't notice :p)

The first mistake was crossing to the other side of the road? But I was following the dotted white line (when you make a turn with two lanes..)

Apparently you have to do it the shitty way and turn BEFORE the line (then what the fuck are the lines for?) It's hard to explain..

Second mistake was hitting the curb parallel parking :X (I didn't go over the curb though, pretty sure that's an automatic failure).

And the mistake he didn't notice was when I hit the curb when parallel parking, he made me leave the car to see where the wheel hit the curb. I got back into the car and FORGOT TO PUT MY SEATBELT ON LOL.

He didn't notice. I noticed as soon as we started going again I was like "shit shit shit shit" hahaha. But I passed

The quotes are going to be ridiculous, Easier to ride a bike then pay the insurance on a car at your age..

206 is not nice, get the polo aha. But if that polo has any body kits, injections, turbo, at all then thats when 17 year olds start getting into £10000+ insurance.

Mine's a 1.2 and I only pay £1700 per annum and I passed at the beginning of last year, that quote is unreasonably/unrealistically high.

If you try it with admiral, add your aunty/uncle as named drivers and tell them you park it on the street.. The insurance with them is higher if you park on your drive ect!

Secondly, don't say your unemployed as thats just asking to have your insurance highered. I've found computer technician is the cheapest, however, thats upto you if you want to risk that.

These are mine and friends insurances as well as age with admiral and can show you the quote

    Me: 1.4s Golf - £1477 - 19
    Friend: 2.0 Tdi A3 - £3000 - 19
    Friend: 1.7 CDTI Astra - £2300 - 18

You can find cheap insurance if you really search around and explore options on there website.

OH YEAH.. Don't do what verts said.. ignore insurance groups to a certain extent, the more popular the car is with younger people the more the insurance is, ever tried insuring a corsa lol?
