    Pricing Structure

    Looking for creative ideas to give our potential customers the sense of feeling that you get when you are getting massive saving/discount.

    Our current pricing structure is simple an assigned price list per user (normally 25% markup)

    We are thinking about converting our structure to this :

    - One PUBLIC price list
    But we will give the customer a set % discount of the base price. So we will issue the customer with our base price list and then offer them 200% discount or something like that. We was thinking of basing our base prices on the prices we supply to the public that would then give our wholesalers 200% + discount.

    Any ideas on how to make the structure better or any better idea?

    Cheers

    Odd forum to ask this question, but nonetheless;

    Will your sales be purely online? Have you delved into any marketing ideas? What type of parts, for what cars?

    It will obviously be hard to content with established auto repair/sales companies, in terms of price and discounts.

    Haha I agree but I get my graphics done here (very cheap and also as good as professionals) and also I cba to sign up to any other forum.

    And no we currently get 80% of our *wholesale* order via phone and 20% online . But 99% of our PUBLIC sales are online.

    We have several marketing ideas from viral video ideas to social media/market and current stream of customers ready to purchase / promote our products that we have sourced from the wholesale side of things.

    And yes I agree it will be hard to compete with existing suppliers but we have the strongest agreement with 2 of the leading hose fastener companies (which is where we gain most of our income from) and 70% of our customers are in the auto repair / performance upgrade industry so we already have some leads.

    But alot of our suppliers have quoted us a list price and given us a % of the prices.

    Hey Bud,

    I have been apart of the automotive spare parts industry for quite some time now.

    I worked with Mack Trucks for years, and what we done was aimed for a 30% mark up on all prices. This was simply our aim, some low cost parts would be 40-50% mark up, and then more expensive parts such as turbos/intercoolers would gather around 15-20% mark up.
