Dogs can pick up on some facial expressions and your tone of voice.

Even though he's a very cute puppy and you (and others?) probably talk to him in the usual high pitched cute voice, you need to be more stern about the chewing of furniture etc. Dogs can learn very quickly who is boss (you) and when the boss isn't happy, and then will learn what kind of behaviour is allowed.

The toys are a great idea, and you can use them as both an award and punishment. If he chews the furniture you can point at him, frown, say his name and tell him he's a "bad boy" in a scarier voice than normal. Then take the toys away.

Puppies are awesome, but it's important to train them well while they are growing in their cutest phase.

As for the biting of hands, it depends if you mean he's doing it aggressively or playfully. Dogs do bite each other playfully, especially when puppies, so maybe that's what he's trying to do. HOWEVER of course playfully of not playfully is definitely not ok so when he does that raise your voice and be like "woah hey hey hey, NO" etc.


The above are just my thoughts on my personal experience raising a few dogs and one of them from being a few weeks old puppy. I'm far from an expert though and definitely have been LUCKY with many of the dogs I've had.

Youtube is the BEST resource for tips videos. Use it as your weapon. You will raise the goodest of good boys if you do

 

Teach it you are the Alpha by raising your voice and speaking deeper when it does something wrong. You can go as far as a little tap on it's nose when things get chaotic.

Reward good behaviour, but not too much.

Him biting your hands is natural but you gotta teach him it is not okay. Anytime he does it, make sure you look serious and tell him it is not okay. Are you playing and get bitten? Say "NO", get up and walk away. Tell it with your body language that you are not happy. It may try and console with you but don't give in, show it you are not happy and what they did is not acceptable.

They are social animals and will learn quite fast

 

additionally: you should try as hard as you can to train it now otherwise when it becomes an adult and it’s behavior hasn’t changed, it’ll be even harder or impossible for you to discipline the dog. one of my mates dog doesn’t give a F bout anything
