    Outer Life?

yes, the universe is just too vast for there to not be any other kind of life. now as to them being the standard "aliens" that people claim to see, probably not, and who knows, they may be even less advanced then we are. also, i doubt that we will ever come into contact with them (b/c of the speed at whcih we can travel, speed of light, universe always expanding etc.

What I don't get is the coincidence between each spotting and the government's excuse.

I mean, what if someone lies and claim to see a sighting. What will the government then say? Another excuse?

I think it is kind of ridiculous and arrogant to think we are the only life forms in the universe, but there isn't really any conclusive proof right now either.

Agreed. Is there also like non-living life forms lol?

What I mean is like a different form of trees and whatnot with different processes.

The universe is infinitely expanding... hopefully someday we'll find out.

Hopefully :/ . but i think i read somewhere that it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light, so making contact would be a problem

But what if they're really close to us? What if they've already made contact? What if they don't comprehend the concept of contact? There's been reported sightings :\

Ahhhh I forget, there were calculations done and the chance is very good that there are other life-forms.

    Simple life forms, very probable.

Intelligent life forms - somewhat probable.

Life forms capable of breaching speed of light/intergalatic travel - probability indeterminate.

I think we aren't. Maybe we're not even the smartest species

To be honest, I hope this whole things blows over and becomes as silly as thinking the world is flat in 500 years :D (assuming we do find other species)

I concur. Where did the idea that "aliens" would be far more advanced and intelligent than us derive from? I believe it is almost certain there is life somewhere else besides earth. However, who is to say that life would be civilized?

    Outer Life?

The idea came from stories meant to be taken as literal accounts of phenomena people experienced. Read my post here (#3) for just a FEW of these examples. There are literally hundreds of stories like this.

The universe is infinite. Given an infinite number of chances, everything and anything will occur. There HAS to be somewhere with intelligent life forms. This seems like a silly question to me. Of course there is outer life. I'd even go so far as to say this outer life if on our planet. I can't say whether they are pushing their own agenda, just observing, or what, but I don't doubt that something is going on here...

Yes I personally believe outer life forms exists. It is narrowminded to assume Earth is the only place in the Universe which can sustain some form of life.

Of course. Bacteriums and single-cell life forms of that nature have even been found on Mars. If life is possible here, why shouldn't it be possible elsewhere?

    Outer Life?

I believe that yes there is life other than that on this earth because it is possible for life to be non-carbon based, silicon based possibly and a select few other elements which it could be based, even though it has not been observed, just speculated on. Since all planets and stars are all based off of the same 'materials' resulting from the big bang and different 'clusters' contain different proportions of those 'materials', earth just happened to base off of carbon. So whose to say that another region of space didn't contain the same materials for life as our solar system had, even though the chance of the same conditions occuring is almost implossible. That's about as good as i can get it atm...kinda baked

Consider the ultimate size of the universe, it would be merely impossible for no outer lifeforms to exists. Its mere common sense really.
