What is the point of twitter

What do you think of twitter, i have one but all i do is tweet and wait for retweets/favs/comments to see if anyone agrees/related with what im saying or doing

Twitter is more for public figures, so you could see what they are doing in their lives.

 

I've always kind of seen social networking as a really watered down version of forums and other similar internet communication boards. Reddit seems to be one of the first connections between the internet ignorant and the deeper web but to me I just see little to no value to twitter and other related websites but that's entirely a personal preference and I'm sure there are benefits that i'm just not acknowledging at the moment. Either way I'm not too familiar with them that's just my two cents on the subject.

 

Twitter is useful for those that have businesses/websites. Helps spread the word faster such as an update or special offers. Although, Facebook is just as useful for that now. Otherwise, there isn't truly a good reason for all the hype that Twitter has gotten. Haven't logged in to mine for over 2 years now. I remember posting random stuff from my phone onto Twitter and now I realize how pointless it all really was.

 

Im going through this phase now hahaha, i deleted my account,but came back like an hour later, i honestly dont know what to say about it, excpet that its just sort of there for whatever reason and i always find myself back on it wasting time literally just looking at what other people are saying.

I guess i just have one to say i have one , in my highschool its that "site to be at"

 

That is true. You will be doing that pretty often lol. It is like an unbreakable cycle when people and friends you know will be talking about it and saying "Awww man brah you should make one!" It is the same thing as when Myspace was "the thing to have" during my years. Damn trends. xD I am out of highschool so that could be the reason why I lost interest in it. More freedom to choose what you want, not what others are in to.

It's a way for people to interact with their idols etc - it's pretty neat to get a message from your inspiration and what-not, no? But of course, just as the apparent photography social network Instagram did, it's turned in to a selfie popularity contest.

It's also a great way to draw attention to things. Using hashtags to spread awareness for whatever reason, brings people together.

 

I think twitter is mainly used to let people that you know( also you trust) what you're doing right now. However, twitter can be used to stalk people and know when people are out of town.

I use twitter for personal reasons such as contacting american express, chase, wells fargo or any other banks that use twitter. I get lots of deals from AMEX using their @amexsync and #amex hashtag.

 

lmao that is exactly what they say hahaha, i think i can still find messages of my bros saying these exact same words too.

 

For the most part, Twitter is another way for attention seeking whores to get instant attention. Unless, you are using it for a business then that is OK.
