Do you believe in "what goes around comes back around"?

This saying irritates me. "What goes around comes back around". Well if you broke up with your girlfriend, does that mean the next girl you get will dump you? I'm not good at analogies but hopefully you get the point. And no, this isn't karma. Karma is different. "Karma" is a hinduism belief that thiefs, killers, or "bad" people in one life come back in another with poor living conditions or are reincarnated as a minor species such as an insect or an animal that is often another insect or animal's prey.

I believe that when we do something politically bad or "wrong" in our society's eyes, we get nervous and feel guilt. After feeling this way for awhile, you start to get irritable without realizing it. Then you start pushing away people or getting into more trouble, and that's when you believe in the saying "what goes around comes back around" only because you felt bad and actually caused it yourself. It's a hard concept to explain.

Scientifically karma or What goes around comes back around makes perfect sense. Lets say a guy at your work always does bad things and blames them on fellow co-workers well who do you think those co-workers are going to blame the next time something happens. This doesn't just apply to the work place its the simple fact that nice people get treated nicely because they do so to others thus mean people get treated badly because people don't forget!

A murder kills someone, you're telling me someone else is gonna kill that murder? No way.

I don't believe in it to be a golden rule, as in every time you do something good/bad you will reciprocally receive it back.

For the most part it's just coincidence. If you do bad or good things, of course someones going to do bad or good things to you. But hey if you do NOTHING, bad or good things will STILL happen to you.

If you do not do bad or good things, nothing does happen. No one will know you exist, then what harm can you be in?

Therefore, I believe in "what goes around comes back around". If you do nothing, it comes back. Nothing to do with coincidence or karma. This is my opinion.

 

I do not believe in "karma" or reincarnation into a lower species as punishment. Something like predator and prey is simply natural selection.

 

I do personally believe in Karma or ''what goes around comes around''. I feel that if you do something that you probably shouldn't do, something bad will happen. Likewise, if you do something good, you will get something good in return. I just feel this kind of stuff happens to me all the time, call it coincidence or whatever you want, but that's just my belief.

I think the phrase matters and doesnt matter...It's all on the scenario, I suppose. I've also never heard of that being where Karma derived from. Please, list your source for that?

 

I believe that if I do bad things, bad things will eventually happen to me. If I do good things, good things will eventually happen to me.

I like to think of it as a 50/50 coin toss. Characteristically speaking, eventually the coin will flip enough times to come back to being 50/50, regardless of how many times it has been flipped (in theory).

However, being a Christian, I also believe that God blesses and tests you depending on the choices you make in life.

So yeah, I do believe in "what goes around, comes around" a bit.

 

Well I agree a little bit, if I do something good then someone might see that and be nice to me when I need something from someone.

i dont agree with your analogy of a girl friend, but if you treat people like crap they ill treat you like crap is the basic. But yes what goes around comes around generally.

Absolutely not. I am just about the luckiest person, and also a dick at the same time. I have lived a long time, and not had many bad things happen to me, but have caused a lot of bad things to happen to my brother, and other people.

If Karma is real, then I guess it will hit me when I am sen-ail.

 

it cant really be true. because there is no universal list of what is good and bad. what is good and what is bad is up to you and the people who raise you to believe what is good and bad. like you said, the only way it will really come back is if you bring it on yourself...otherwise its coincidence. You could do something good then something bad will happen to you. No one will mention karma or what goes around comes around then....hopefully you know what im getting at (people will only mention it when it supports their belief [like if u do bad then bad happens they will say its karma or whatever]). this is known as biased assimilation

 

No I don't. In cases where things actually do seem to turn around, I believe to be coincidence if anything.

I think that once you believe in something of this nature - in this case 'what goes around comes around' - then you begin to see it. If I tell you to go for a drive and count how many red cars you pass then you will take notice of primarily - red cars. Each to their own I suppose.

As I side note I believe in Karma (don't know why) and hence I see it everywhere. If something bad happens to me or I do something bad to someone else then I feel that something good is about to happen to me or that something bad is going to happen to me respectively.
