new pure [trick mauler?]

okay so, ive been checking out how well cvls & cswh does, and i was just wondering if i could pull this off, being 20 80+ 1,

what quests would i need to do for the 20 attack, ik death plateau gives you 13 and climbers so i'll do that first, then what? vampire slayer?

my style of pk would be to use obby maul on them thinking im a mauler noob, then when they get to a 1/4 of hp, whip out either vls or swh [which is cheaper/better?] and get a sick ko

does it sound possible?

give other ideas based around my current one, cheers!

 

ermmm there are already these type of accounts out and tbh they seem to own, going from a range (msb) spec to warhammer/cvls for k0 but yeah gl with it

 

i already know about those pures, im trying to branch off a little and focus more on the melee side of things.

but, d'you think maul -> vls/swh would work? maybe use darts inbetween in order to have a fast switch.

 

i don't think the maul to vls would work at all. Just because of the timer the maul carries. :s

Use a slayer staff hits very high at 80+ str. Only problem is it requires 55 Slayer.

yeah, equivalent stats of a rune scim but faster, optimum choice for an obby mauler

i suppose that would keep it more melee based than using range in order to pk. that and the person i would be fighting wouldn't know that a vls was coming their way instead of the maul.

 

It sounds like a good idea in theory but have you ever tried it? If it works well I might switch my starter pure to some thing like that.

 

It may work but it would be hard to get good switches and combos due to the timer. I would just stick with range to VLS

 

That's honestly a bad idea, I'm sorry for the rudeness.
Vls + S-Ham is stronger then the obby maul, and you're getting 20 attack for a reason.
That's like saying
I'm gonna use dark bow and ko them with an obby maul hit.
The combo with high hitting weapons like Mauls , Vls, etc is use a fast - medium weapon and then finish them with a hard hitting slow weapon.

1 Attack - Slayer staff into Obby maul
1 Attack - Msb/Knives/Darts into Obby maul
Same goes for 5 attack with the above.
When you hit 20 attack, then just replace the Obby maul with Vls/Stat hammer.

Another good combo is Vls or Statius war-hammer, and switching into 2 Granite maul specials.
That takes 50 attack, but it's a devastating combo-breaker.

The best pure in my opinion would be something with a high maged and ranged level, such as 82 - 94, with an attack of 50, and a strength equal to 5 levels lower then the maged and ranged, so it keeps the combat levels even.

Stay 13 prayer if you can, and if you get above 82 strength, then statistically it makes sense to get 31, but 13 prayer just looks sexier, lets you get more hp, and after you use the maul special attacks, 31 is useless because then you're going to be using ranged attacks. ​

 

It's something I've never tried.. but maybe steel long to vls?

Guess they are the same speed.. and look slightly similar, so maybe it would be a surprise?

 

you pretty much just said make a barrage -> g maul pure. thats not something you can round up in 2 weeks [don't say you can just sw it, think about all the bans lately]

and also, g maulers of the standard you explained are about 60 combat. i want something quick and easy, not even quests really required.
