Opinion on this game

I agree with Vegeta. It's just the type of game, you can't really improve it.

 

But games like "Cut the Rope", "Angry Birds", or "Blek" are all this style yet are some of the most downloaded games on the app store...

this game seems like you can just skim through the levels; is there any penalties if you break off the consistency of the line drawing e.g taking off the cursor?

 

I don't really get what you mean? If you don't do the level exactly how it has to be done you can't get past it.

It would be stupid and annoying to penalize people for that. What other penalty can you give besides making the user start over? Setting people back a level is excessive and unnecessary.

 

I like the idea, but the game is a little too simple graphically. I know the only game the lacked real creativeness was the piano tile game, but that design was important in playing well (black bg vs white tiles).

SO, for this game, the possible excitement should be umped by new cursors, improved colors, and some type of reward or trophy section. Nothing too fancy to make it global hi-scores, but just a little incentives to keep players viewing them ads .

 

The level becomes more colorful when the user uses hints. The hints change the colors of the dots in a sequence that represents the order to click.

When you say cursor are you referring to the dots? Do you mean new shapes too? And what about different colored lines?

OK so I actually downloaded the game and ngl I liked it. Here are a few notes I took on how to fix/improve the game:
-Create a reverse button. For example, if I accidentally draw a line in the wrong order, I have to restart the whole level. That's really annoying. There should be an option of like, swiping to the left would reverse your last move.
-Fix the numbers on the instructions page. The number for each step is overlapping the instructions.
-Change the font of everything, doesn't look nice.
-Center "Draw Me That" on the homescreen, it's a bit under the center and a bit annoying.
-Change the Facebook sidebar/logo to an actual facebook logo, not just a poorly made "facebook" in comic sans on a dark blue.
-When selecting levels, make it possible to swipe to go through the levels instead of having to click ">more"
-Change the colors. They're all too bright, neony, and hard on the eyes.
-I don't like the fact that you have to click from circle to circle in order to make the line, I would personally like to be able to draw the line (hence "DRAW" me that). You could integrate an option to allow a swipe drawing.
-Do not allow for moves that are out of boundaries. For example, you can click from one circle to the other on a line that isn't even an option for a move/clearly breaks the rules and then you have to restart the whole level. It's annoying.
-Don't put dashes "-" next to play game, instructions, best times, etc.. Just put the words there. There's no point for those dashes.

That's all I could think of for now. Hope that helps.

 

LOL, for some reason I saw that response coming. When I first saw your previous post, I was thinking--"in before, gg beat it ez...so any new levels?" xD
In any case, I'll test this out on my iPad sometime soon. I have seen you working on this for some time now--so I'll get you some feedback once I'm free.

- I don't want to make a reverse button, that would make it too easy.
- The instructions only seem to be messed up on some iPhone 4's (not on my own iPhone 4) so I was not able to reproduce the error.
- I'll change the font, currently using system font
- Centering "Draw Me That" on the home screen actually makes it unreadable due to the placement of the dots in the background and the contrast of the white, green, and black.
- I'll definitely change the Facebook logo to a real one
- I'm going to incorporate the swipe feature, I've heard that one from a lot of people
- The new update (1.1) fixes the color issue (unless you are talking about the buttons to pick a level)
- The dragging feature is something I am considering. I was originally going to make it that way but found that it was too easy to connect the wrong dots. Once you get to level where there are around 10 dots on the screen and tons of lines, it is too easy to mess up with such small screens. I will look into including this in a future update
- Version 1.1 fixes the error of making unwanted lines
- Version 1.1 replaces the dashes with bullets
