    Open close your own threads

    would be pretty cool if ppl could open close their own threads would be less work for mods and locked if thread is out of hand and stuff

    i have to agree...

    it would be so much simpiler for me to close my own thread, rather then pming someone to close it for me :)

    Open close your own threads

    I've addressed this suggestion before.

    Ordinary users should not be allowed to open and close their own threads because, although the permission does exist for vBulletin, it is possible (I should say, probable) that people would combat staff and constantly re-open their own threads. If you argue that it's possible for us to just delete the thread, sometimes we want a thread's content to remain accessible but not to have users post in it.

    Also, every time someone opens or closes a thread it's recorded in a moderator log. 10000+ mod logs would make it much harder for us to keep track of our actual staff members. In addition it will stuff the server up when we try to view anyone's mod logs.
