Robert Halford is the singer of Judas Priest, hence the name "Halford". This is one of the best metal songs of this century. Listen to the lyrics closely. It can't get more metal than this. It's a shame he went back to Judas Priest. There isn't any good material by them anymore.

Children of Bodom is a little soft for my taste though. They went a bit too much to the goth side. They are a sick bunch of musicians though. It sucks when you get covered by them cause they show you they can do it too only +/- 10 times faster. Arch enemy's leet singer (ha..ha) is gruesome though. Greatest female voice ever. And she is frig da fhkin hot. Still I think Wacko Jesus is another good new metal band. " I want to ****** shove your **** up your **** watch it liquify as i use it for lubrication" etc. Gotta love it

[edit] Oh and what about Apocalyptica. They're pretty cool. Nothing special though.

 

lol, if you like Grindcore (which is more punk by the way) you should listen to Anal Cunt. Their lyrics are amazingly creative

I myself isn't very interested in Grindcore. I would prefer Brutal Death Metal bands such as Cannibal Corpse or Aborted. They are really awesome.

 

Yea i know Anal Cunt. They're the ones from songs like "pottery is gay" and "recycling is gay". Cannibal Corpse is ok I guess. But if I was to choose between Cannibal Corpse and The Exploited I'd go with the last.

The thing I like most about old Metal is that they're really proud to be metal. Half the songs they write are about how great Metal is and that its their destiny to make metal. Like kings of metal by Manowar. Plus they really make a point of being Satan worshippers or atleast use a lot of satanic phrases in their music. I mean the name Judas priest alone... Thats really cool atleast I think. Not that I'm some kind of Satan fanatic but you get my point...

 

yeah, the reason they take up satan is because it was "forbidden". Not because they were some kind of satanists. Manowar is one of the best heavy metal bands there is.

 

Yeah metal and punk alike have always been about shocking people. With grindcore alive it must be hard toshock people these days. I wonder what they'll come up with in 20 years. But one thing is for sure, they'll be perverted minds.
