Explanation of the trade: Purchased a 96 day membership code from his Shoppy, code was invalid straight away. Have purchased codes from here before with no issue.

How they scammed: I don't believe the user intended to scam but they definitely have uploaded an invalid code and are refusing to refund/provide a legit one.

hi, before listing all membership codes we checked them one by one. sold over 1k+ codes and haven't got any complains of used codes. Told this guy to show us runescape inbox email / email of proof that anything has been redeemed but ghosted instantly .

 

@Oshy Mind making a ticket to Jagex with the order ID/proof you bought it? This will be able to show us if the code was redeemed prior or after to the time you sent it to @SweeneyTodd.

@SweeneyTodd How come you haven't followed up further with @Oshy on this yet?

I attempted to follow up on it at first, I joined his discord and made a ticket. The conversation was not really getting anywhere and accusations were being thrown etc.

What was asked of me by Oshy made no sense and was not clear either, since during the conversation I said I only have a single account and it does not have membership on it he said I have to prove to him that the 2 previous keys I purchased were used on that account as well (I'm not sure this is even the case). First he said I could check the billing section on the Jagex site but this was incorrect, then he said I would have messages in my Jagex inbox but I couldn't find any, and then I was instructed to go to my email and find key redemption messages.

I decided that it was best to just let you guys deal with it and I'm keen to see what Jagex says is the redemption date on it since I am out of both money and a key.

 

Yep correct , am asking for proof that you have redeemed them on a single account since you said you had only 1 account. I usually don't refund codes because ive talked to multiple codes seller that there are people who buys code and use them and complaining after that the codes are invalid. which they are clearly trying to get another 1 for free.

If not i can contact jagex myself and hope to get a reply.

 

The account I have is bought and I don't have email access, and I can't even confirm if that account had both codes used on it.

If you can contact Jagex and find the redemption date that would be great.

I don't think there's any resolution to this if Jagex won't reply, not fussed anymore and bought my membership elsewhere. Happy to have this closed.

 

Sorry for the late follow up. Unfortunately Jagex isn't able to provide the specific time-stamp this code was redeemed on for some reason (as prior that wasn't the case according to another J mod for a similar previous situation that my other friend encountered), however they were at least able to verify that this was a working code at one point and time. Given this and the fact that Oshy and the code provider Oshy uses have never faced an issue like this in the past and have overall remained in good standing throughout their time trading (as I thought it was important to look into that before coming to any conclusion here) I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt. I'm sorry that wasn't the outcome you were hoping for, but I hope you can understand given the circumstances.
