Just sharing the community opinion here.

I've seen much outrage on this.

OGV's provided many positives and no negatives. The users did not get a rank, did not start drama, and did their jobs well.

I agree with Finn's update 100%, but I do believe that sections should consist of:
    -Verified guides
-eBooks & unverified guides or eBooks
If just eBooks above, unverified guides as another section.

Please share your opinions honestly, and not because "my friend wants OGV back."

I agree, not only because I was an OGV but because we had a very fluid system. If it works why break it. (I know that's not the quote at all, but it still applys).

eBooks not so much as they are stories etc. but for guides there is no reason to not have a section where those who want to be credible will get their guides verified.

A lot of scamming will occur when the only process of verification is to "give out a free copy" or have a friend write a review. Those were things that people used to get infractions for and now they replace a verification system.

Support, it would reduce scamming by reintroducing OGVs.

Personally I don't think we need them, we don't have anything else verified and people should be able to tell what guides are the good buy and which ones aren't.

Seems like people are just hurt that they lost their rank.

8 out of the 11 OGV's were OMMs/Mods [Karl, FlyingToast, Determinate, RsProd, Scottay, HHN, Kabal, Tmoe]

Rsaccounttrader was a $300 donor, and I myself am a $200 donor. Pokerking88 didn't have any outstanding ranks, but doesn't frequent the market so the rank doesn't really matter much to him.

The OGV rank was minimal compared to our status's, so please don't make any accusations that the Former OGV Team is "hurt that they lost their rank."

OT: I agree with this suggestion. The problem with the peer-to-peer verification system is that oftentimes people exaggerate about what their guide delivers, and receiving a verification vouch from a friend or lesser known member of Sythe can mislead people genuinely interested in purchasing the guide.

If the peer-to-peer system is to stay in place, then I suggest a certain format that verifiers need to follow, and a list of consequences if the guide doesn't contain what is advertised, or is leaked.

Agree with blade; good update by Finn but I think we need OGV back, at least for RS/IRL $ making guides.

Austin's quotes of both him and myself sum it up for me too. Without the system there is a lot of spam of unverified GVs wanting to verify guides (or just get them for free and BS a good review). Without the system, a single, random person is given the task 5+ market hardened staff and trusted members were given in the past.

As I've said before, this is not a self-beneficial suggestion; I have never used a guide from the private OGV forum (even tho we're allowed to) and never plan to. I'd rather OGV was brought back and I wasn't on it than no OGV at all.

For RS guides, I honestly think OGV is needed. Too many guides are already leaked and are being resold. Having eBook verifications isn't really needed, but RS/IRL are always good.

Also, agreed with Snow Patrol. I'm not butthurt about it.

I really don't see why they were taken away. With the scamming that happens with ebooks it's almost essential to have people who make sure the guides aren't leaked/stolen or out dated. I fully support the return of OGV.

I agree with RS/IRL guides having verified.

I do however disagree with the need of another section.

You are 100% incorrect. We didn't have a rank, UT or anything from it.
I do agree with you blade, the positives of it definitely help.

This thread outrages me, can none of you read?

If the new system doesnt work, it will converted back to the old, all of the stuff needed for OGV remains intact, just hidden.

The new system is on a trial, as mentioned in the OP of the announcement.
