    Officer spelled my name incorrectly?

I got a 888$ speeding ticket coming back down from Big Bear mountain. I was doing an 88 on a 55, on a two lane mountain (that's why its 888$). Anyways, I just noticed he spelled my last name wrong on the ticket, and on the ticket that was mailed in it was spelled wrong as well ( my last name). DO you think my ticket can be voided?? I reside in california.

No flaming, idgaf about your opinions on my ticket, just tell me if i can or not.

Sadly no. If the officer can point you out in court, that is usually enough. A small spelling mistake isn't enought to get out of this ticket.

Ps Damn thats a lot. I've never heard a speeding ticket being so high for speeding.

No no no mate whenever you get a ticket they take down your home address and ID number so basically you can be found or you cant get out of the ticket, but like ARTO said if they can point you out your good as dead lol also just pay the ticket and stay out of trouble lol.

The only other thing you can try to do is, go to court and try to have it reduced.

You can try saying stuff like, you are a student or something like that and perhaps the judge may show leniency.

EDIT: Yes if the cop doesn't show up, you automatically win.
My dad did the same thing. Funny the cop didnt show up only for him, and out of the 25ppl everyong got a guilty verdict but him.

go to the arraignment and plead guilty.

if its your first time receiving a ticket, judge will offer you traffic school and reduce your traffic ticket fee.

I did this. My original ticket was about 200-300$ w/ traffic school and then I went to the arraignment and plead guilty. I paid only $170.00 and traffic school was about 25$ only because I paid $5 for a copy of my certificate of completion ( originally 20$)

If they mailed one through, they'll likely know it was made for you, you'll only get yourself in more trouble if you try to avoid it.

Since you got it in the first place, then no.

Isn't this your 2nd (that ik of) ticket?

Didn't you get out of the first one?

Your best bet at this point is to:

    1. Get a friend that is or knows someone that is a traffic court lawyer.
    2. Go to court, plead your case
    3. Hope to God that the officer doesn't show up
    4. That the court date is chalk full of other cases and they send you a letter a 1-2 weeks before the date with a reduced fine and reduced points (happened to me with a $250ish ticket. 80 in a 55 on a 2 lane backroad).
