So I got my ACT scores back today...

And I got a 28 =| Friends of Sythe, is this a good or bad score in your opinion? What are my college aspects like? How will I fare in college acceptance with my score? (Keep in mind, this is my first time taking the ACT, and so I am aiming for at least a 31+ in my future retakes.)

If anyone needs to know, I want to go to medical school later on and dive into the field of anesthesiology ^_^

 

It's decent, but for what you're aiming for I'd say a 32+ would be much more fitting.

 

I think MCAT scores and college GPA will matter the most when getting into a med school. Of course going to a top tier school would help, but you could still get into a good med school by going to a decent school and having good MCAT scores, a high college GPA, and EC's.

 

It's a respectable score, but aim for a 33+ especially if you're looking to become an MD

 

A 28 is equivalent to ~ 1900 on the SAT, if you're looking for a comparison.

 

Even if you don't get into the best undergrad, it's okay. Just aim for a lead schoool, that puts you directly into their Med school after undergrad. As long as you do well in undergrad with MCAT, GPA, EC's you'll be able to get into Med school.

 

It's decent. For the average person, it's very good. It just depends on where you want to attend college. If you want to attend your state school, that score fares pretty. In my state, 33+ on your ACT gets you a tution waiver at a state University.

The ACT and med school have no correlation. The MCAT is taken to get into medical school, as you hopefully already know.

 

I'd think it's decent, but as above posters say, there's still room for improvement.

Just remember that's there's always room for improvement. I'd suggest if you want the goals that you stated - study more.
