Router problems

I switched service providers and now I seem to lose connection on runescape more often. Like I'll go through periods of disconnecting every three minutes or so. The rest of the gadgets in the house don't seem to be affected in this negative manor and my directly wired xbox is working well. My wireless laptop is the problem I can barely take steps without lagging. I was considering buying one of the usbs that help increase connectivity. Please post other suggestion or anything all help is appreciated.

 

Did you receive a new router when you switched your provider?

 

Yes I recieved a router and a few other things when I switched

 

Have you tried updating your wireless drivers?

 

How could I go about doing this? I'm not very great with computers

 

What's your laptop model?

Does that router come with diagnostics?

Try pining indefinitely 8.8.8.8 and see if the router is the problem or your pc is.

Aaahh this is like my laptop.
Long story short... Buy yourself a wireless adapter. They're like £10 and they're great. Or if your warranty is still on your laptop, take it back because its likely your wireless card.
