    http://www.technobuffalo.com/2013/06/19/games-win-microsoft-removing-drm-from-xbox-one/

    Text from link:

"Microsoft has officially announced that it is indeed removing the DRM and Internet requirements from the Xbox One.

Following up on rumors that hit just moments ago, Microsoft has officially announced that it is removing the Internet requirement from the Xbox One. There will be a one time requirement to be connected to the Internet at the time of set-up, but after that there will be no limitations on playing your games offline as had been previously stated.

As for the limitations on renting, selling or sharing your games for the Xbox One, those have been removed as well.

The previously announced region locks have also been lifted meaning you will be able to play your games no matter where you are in the world.

In short, the gamers have won."

Good. I'm glad they realised it was a stupid idea, after all the uproar. Saying that though, I think i'm still more a PS4 fan.

So i guess the costumer is always right. Goes to show the consumer still has some sort of power. Even with that said ill still be sticking with the ps4.

Meh, Xbox fans might as well just buy a PC, that's what the Xbox one is trying to be anyway.

There's also a thread of this in GD but I'm leaving them both open because its a popular discussion :)

Computers will always be better, but it's the ease and usability of consoles that will always win.

If they didn't remove them, Sony would of won the battle. Now I think it is back in xbox's favor..you cant deny that the xbox one is the superior console. The only thing holding it back was the drm and internet connection, now that those are gone, its back on top.

You posted the exact same thread on Zarpor...

None the less, I'm happy. I guess I'll be getting both of them now.

It is a smart move they knew no one was buying their console if they didn't make this change ps4 would outsell xbox one by numbers in the hundreds of thousands so early on.

How is Xbox one the superior console if PS4 has better specs... No one should say one is better if they haven't tried it.

If xbox originally intended this, I can't trust them to not pull it off in the future once everyone has purchased an xbox one.

Ps4 is cheaper, has better specs (ever so slight), better game range (imo), better controllers and has cheaper online with more benefits for purchasing online.

I'm sorry but Xbox, you've fucked yourself out of at least one customer.

It will be interesting to see if the generation of consoles after Ps4/Xbox One will try to monopolize the DRM also
