Not knowing what to do as a career path...

I just finished my two year degree, and I am on track to get a bachelors degree (already in 4 classes). I am going for network security, but I am having second thoughts...
I don't know if I want to work behind a computer screen throughout a career..
I just don't know what else to do other than this.
I am currently a painter for my father and make very good money for my age,
but I am not a huge fan of manual labor because it drains my body.
Any tips? Not sure what to do...I am paying for my own school so I don't want to take classes and waste my money if I don't think I am very interested..

 

It doesn't really matter what you do as long as you love it. If you don't love your work it's detrimental to your health.
The truth about main careers is that it should be what you're passionate about; and the problem with that is that its impossible to choose your passions - your passions seem to choose you.
You start off choosing an interest at something, see if you like it, and go from there. If you find that you can't see any way (even after thorough research, careful thought and study, etc.) that you can possibly like it., move on with the next thing or explore other things.

The moment you stagnate is the moments at which you're wasting your life for activities that isn't your true life purpose and the sooner you realise that the better it will be.

 

There are plenty of different jobs out there, you can attend extra classes and go a different route with it. For instance, someone studying biology could for instance take an extra year to become a marine biologist, some similarities but they do different stuff. I would advice you to finish the year and see where it takes you. You can apply for different jobs, and it doesn't mean you will have to sit behind a computer all day.

 

Having my bachelors degree in Biology I can relate to this example. At first I didn't know what I wanted to do but I ended up choosing to go to pharmacy school.

with that being said...I cant stress this enough.
whatever you decide on, You need to be sure that's what you want to do because choosing your career path is a very sensitive & important decision. Talk to as many people as you can and do research online.

 

"follow your passions" is generally what rich people tell poor people.

What you need to do is find what you're good at, and take passion from becoming the best in that field.

Your degree doesn't have anything to do with what you will do in life. Degrees demonstrate you have a brain and can follow an interest. Go read through job boards, do a few internships, meet as many people as you can, and by some process of luck and hard work you will find a career.

 

The main thing is... follow what you enjoy. You have 40 + years potentially of working until retirement.

Make sure you do something which brings you passion, but also works to your attributes and strengths.

I worked a job doing 50 hour weeks while doing management qualifications in another sector.

You're better off going for a degree that is applicable to non-labor fields. I know this reply is a bit late, but I believe doing something you would enjoy or not hate is the ideal step for you.

Not sure, thinking possibly a personal trainer as a side hustle, but main career still a bit lost.

 

Personal trainers make really good money in consideration that you like it may be something to look into.

Yeah I lift weights, just wouldn't want to do that full time and burn out from the gym all together.
