I suck

Hey, I need your help. When I play League of Legends, I play way too passively, and don't harass back when my opponent harasses me. I am just too scared I might end up feeding. Also, when I play jungle I never invade and usually run when being invaded unless teammates aren't being blind and are coming to help. I just like to farm while the laning phase and do good in team fights. So, should I play more aggressively, or just keep going with my current passive play style.

 

No, you should be playing more aggressively towards your opponent so when they are farming and you are try to farm. Also try to harass them back (even though if they're not harassing you) & keep doing it that then will let you farm more + gain more XP and level up and have control of the lane which will also give you time to do more things..

 

I don't know man, I always get the feeling that they have no cooldowns lol. I just run towards my tower, guess I'm a little bitch. Sometimes I harass back tho, when I'm playing shen or ryze.

 

I understand, but still man you have to harass them, however I already have you added on LoL I'll play a match with you at top lane and show you if you want?

 

I'm already plat 2 on east, I only have problems laning, I farm pretty good, usually under the turret since I don't like trading damage ( -.- ) with the opponents as I usually play late game champs.

You do not have to play aggressive but everything depends on matchup. Sometimes you might be playing a champion that HAS to play aggressive against another champion (i.e. you play Riven against Nasus). If you're a champion that has early/mid advantage you must make this advantage by yourself, if you're champion that is the strongest during end game usually you have to turtle, focus on farming and not dying.

You can watch Dyrus stream, he's a TSM Top Laner and he prefers playing passive and focusing on farming.

Also remember that there are a lot of champions that have a burst and it means that after using all their skills they're weak and you can start attacking them and usually you will win trades. Trade does not mean not losing health, it means that opponent won't be willing to try harras you again

Im exactly the opposite, i think thats my problem. You should always harrass back though, else they will just all-in you when they get you low and you're ~50% hp vs their ~100% hp.

 

Sometimes you have enemies that you can't outrade and your only way to win the lane is to survive. Even if you die once or twice it's still good because if you tried to outrade them you'd have died 5-6 times (example Twisted Fate vs Fizz or Zed). In this situations jungler is essential for you - if he helps you and you get kill at your lane, you've almost won your game.

 

I'm a Diamond jungle Main and a lot of jungling requires you to know the limitations of your champion you are using. Take Lee Sin for example, he's a strong early - mid game jungler, he's a great dualist and an amazing counterjungler, ganker and counterganker. You can't go wrong with Lee Sin EXCEPT if you don't know how to play him.

Get to know your champion you love and it will pay off, don't rely on your team to help you, buy wards for yourself and know what to do in case something happens.

 

Alright, I'll add in my 2 cents.

I'm really not the best player, but I think I know a bit about League.

First off while jungling: Always help your lanes out, if you can't gank, buy a ward for them! If there's ever a opportunity to gank, take it. Make sure they know what's going on. Be the initiator, and have your lanes follow up.

In the jungle: You can't get behind in levels as jungle, that'll crush you and if the enemy jungler sees you're behind, they'll start counter jungling. Always make sure you ward your buffs early games. Until 12 minutes when you know your buffs will be spawning shortly, keep them warded! It'll cut down on your items shortly, but is well worth it! You need to have that XP gain and the extra 100G. If you see the enemy jungler taking your buff, you can either pick off a kill, or at least snipe the buff.

Going to counter jungle: The only time you should do this is when your lanes are pushing the enemies. This insures that you'll hurt the enemy junglers XP+Money or your lanes will be able to keep pushing. Never go counter-jungling without a way of getting away. I jungle with Nautilus often, so I can grab terrain and CC them till I'm gone.

While laning, I mainly ADC or Mid..

While ADCing: When I ADC usually the only times I'll get poked is if I'm the stronger ADC and they want to drop down health so they can free farm or push. If I'm getting harassed I'll harass back, or engage if I feel it's a good time. If I'm the weaker one I will try and harass and farm all I can. I can get usually 3/4ths the CS under tower. (as long as I'm level 4+) You want to stay in lane as long as possible, you want to insure you have around the same amount of gold the enemy ADC does, or more. You want to be around the same XP as the enemy, or higher. -- Simple concepts, I know. If you're losing lane horribly, there's always lane swapping. If you have a tanky-bruiser top or a Nidalee, they can swap and make it 2v1. This works out often, but you have to start shutting people down this way.

I feed so much I have a negative KDA and somehow got to my plat plat 1 series at one point. We're definitely different styles of players.

What you're doing seems to be working for you. Learn from those who are better but embrace it!

 

Genja - Plays passively, usually farms even when his team is fighting.
Yolopete - Usually plays more "utility" ADCs than play-making hyper carries.
TheOddOne - More of a support jungler than anything else.
Wickd - Has recently been playing tanks instead of bruisers lately. Tanks have low kill potential and usually just farm until they get their items.

So my point is that just because Diamondprox is one of the most aggressive counter-junglers doesn't mean you have to be one as well. Just hone your current style and fuck shit up.

But of course, if you're playing something like Renekton and not trying to bully your lane, then you're doing something wrong. If passive is your style, just play more passive champions.

 

Well first off you should not always harass back in the lane usually try to kill the minions and avoid the enemy champions as much as possible until you atleast get a bit of a build going. Then you should start communicating with team setting up ganks ect. It really all depends on the champion you are playing with some range champions give you the privilege to harass other enemy champions wile standing behind the protection of range but if using a melee champion try and get the upper hand by targeting minions and not so much the aggression champion.

 

If you are getting harassed, you harass back unless you are not a 'harass-oriented' champion. Then you stay back until you farm enough to engage.

If you have the chance to deal damage without trading, take it, no matter what.

 

I usually do not engage at all even in harassed. ... just my way of playing.

 

just like me which is also the reason i made this thread. I dont do bad playing passively, guess i should stick to my passive playstyle. My kda isnt too bad, search for 'toon games' on eune servers for it as my phone doesnt load lolking because its a nokia c2 -.-

 

Well there is a certain way that I play passive. When I play passive I usually use champions like Teemo or Taric. Whenever I use Taric I usually build Mana and Tanky also a bit of support gear. It is good because not only can you tank but you have an increase in mana to use special moves more often and usually when building mana you have very good cooldown allowing you to stay on the lane more so that the enemy champion. Although the start of your game will be slow the evolving outcome will be great as for Teemo I usually build Attack speed and Tanky this is because not only can you take the Harassment from enemy champions your Q does a load of damage at the start of the game. You probably will have a faster start with Teemo using just a tad bit of Harassment using your Q and possible using flash to finish off kill but mainly you are being passive. Just some good tech. for getting a bit better with passive play I think its the best way to play.
