Ehh.. looks like you took a waterfall image and put a person with a guitar on it.

 

Eh, yeah i kind of agree with Draucia. I'm fairly new to graphics but try blending your render into the picture more (Don't bury him) and the ripple effect doesnt really make it look any better.

Maybe do some overlay layers with gradients and smoke effects, and play with the lighting and do use some "fractical brushes" ( don't flame me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure if this is what they are called.

 

Agreeing with Draucia, except it also looks like you added random strips with the burn tool.

 

Blending, effects, colours and lighting need some work, but I'm sure your friend will like it regardless.
