I did have the email in my possession, but after it failed recovery as well as him lying about putting his ID on file as well as giving me the creation email (my terms of trade) I never went on it again.

Just checked to see if I could still login to the the email for the info he gave me, and it is not working.

 

This guy is an obvious scammer. He sent me his account info as a test when I first pm'd him without even asking on here so openly. He is also a ban evader (SevenUp).

Also, @Protector please show us the emails were the recovery test was failed.

Using the information you have provided (thank you!), I have been able to cross reference this with the evidence on our systems. After getting a second opinion from a fellow mod to make sure I haven’t left any stone unturned, we can see that someone else is the creator of the account.

We always look to return accounts to their rightful owners, and whilst I can see you may have been on the account in the past, it’s clear you didn’t create it. We state in our ‘Rules of RuneScape’ that “players should not accept an account that anybody else offers as they may be stolen” to try and prevent issues like this. That email occurs when your IP is different from the owners IP.

"we can see that someone else is the creator of the account." means the info is correct but your IP isn't, if you were to use an IP similar to 2k17, then you would 99.9% have a successful recovery.

Please show me where he agrees to give you his ID, if you can't provide proof you'll be expected to pay 2k17 as the info he gave you is correct, you just used the wrong IP.
