Buildcraft + Industral Craft

Did anyone else see the yogscast episodes so far where Louis goes about building insanely cool stuff with multiple mods? I thought it was freakin amazing tbh. It's like a whole new game.

That was pretty interesting. That is the beauty of minecraft, it can be anything. Some of the mods that come out are pretty crazy and can make the minecraft world seem like a completely different one.

 

Me too, I'll always go to them whenever a new version of Minecraft is out. I love their high pitched voices .

 

I really like Shadow of Israphel series. Some people don't like it because it's scripted; I personally don't mind.

 

Unfortunately at this moment I have no idea how to run mods with Minecraft on a mac. Hopefully there is a way though, I need to just do a bit of searching .

 

Minecraft and mods runs on Windows mainly at the moment. I'm guessing after MC is released as a full game it will give Notch more time to work on Macs.

 

Might've found it already but...

Go to Applications Folder > Utilities > Terminal (or Spotlight and search for terminal).

Then, when it loads paste this code into it:

cd ~
mkdir mctmp
cd mctmp
jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar

Then simply click enter.

Next, go to Finder and open up your user folder. (Mac HD > Users > Your Name) There should be a mctmp folder in there. In your mod folder, copy and paste the .class files into the mctmp folder.

Finally, go back in terminal and enter this final code:

rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*
jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
cd ..
rm -rf mctmp

Your done! -- If it's fly mod then I reccomend looking up MyCraft otherwise it is extra work to install it.

 

Are those mods working for 1.8.1?

 

BuildCraft is updated to 1.8.1 and can be found on the minecraft official forums. I would provide you the link, but it appears the mod link was deleted for some reason.

Industrial Craft is not updated to 1.8.1. BUT hang in with me here... it is, however, updated to 1.8.1 in IC2 (Industrial Craft^2). Found here: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=767

 

This mod is unbelievable. Soooooo advanced.


Now I just gotta figure out how to get mods 0.0

 

Mods are pretty easy to install, once you do it the first time you know what your doing. Some mods are very good and some just need to be updated for later versions.

 

Aww, it's single player only =/

 

I could watch the Yogcast all damn day lol.

 

I had this for 1.7 and it was pretty cool, can cause epic lag though if your factory is too large. Mine was between 7 - 10 quarries with several thousands of blocks of tube going everywhere.
