Do you think RuneScape is ready to die?

Come on, lets face it, RuneScape WILL die. Sorry to upset you 10 year olds but it's true.
Everyone is getting lvl 100+, there is too much GP floating around and the game has less new players joining then it did 2 years ago. All new items drop by the mill faster then you can say cheap and there are so many autoers, its not funny.

I would have to say that experienced players have found every trick to playing runescape (the PKers triangle, shooting from behind tables, high alching to keep HP lower, the Pure trend) and the game is basically just being played. Noone plays seriously, even members are starting to act like non members and compared to other available titles, it has some of the worst graphics out.

What do you think? Has RuneScape lived it's life or has it still got some time left iin it?

its still here, but i think runescape is going to die soon

 

I dont think it has much time left, there will always be a solid fan base of people that have not been jacked around by Jagex and have no reason to leave, but if you have been banned and lost out on a lot of your time you have put into that game, then you begin to hold a grudge and it weans you off playing until you eventually quit.


And its almost like asking someone to trade their Xbox 360 (or PS3 =P) for a regular Nintendo (graphics wise). I could put the 10 dollars it cost per month for membership towards a WoW subscription, although I did try WoW for a free trial, and never went back to that, maybe im just growing out of the MMORPG phase....


And sure, im using WoW for my example, but there are other things you can consider to compare to RS2 to get a general idea that they are lacking in a lot of areas, oh, and WoW hit 9 MILLION paying members =0 Lets see RS get even remotely close to that =P

 

Yeah cause their programming for RuneScape relies solely on Java coding.

 

I'm not sure how much Runescape 2 has left in it. But I can assure you it won't just "die" to never be seen again. Jagex is a huge company, they won't just let it die off. Although through the latest updates it seems that way.

Once it becomes just too much to handle, or there is too much gold circulating, Runescape 3 will come out, although this time, I doubt they will let you transfer items as the market would still suck. They'd most likely just have everyone start over, everyone make the money, and there wouldn't be many autoers due to a whole brand new game. Maybe even enforcing new rules, and taking bans farther.

Runescape 2 is far from seeing it's end though, I can assure you of that.

 

i just saw a lvl 3 in lumby askin for frees tuff n it was ammeber world..he wasnt an auto either

 

I think rs should sell there game give it to a better lang and make a new game, lol its the only thing i can think of to keep it alive

 

Ok dude, Show me another dame that uses Java that is NEARLY as good, and lag free as runescape........................Dont worry ill wait. Oh wait there isnt one. /Runescape\ Is the greatest java game out there.

 

Absolutely, Jagex is busy with all there money over making some real improvements or change in RuneScape.

 

yeah, runescape may be the best JAVA game but look at how many other games rely on java. Wow is gonna get better, rs players will migrate to there, rs will have not many players and they will become bankrupt and just give up on runescape

 

they wont become bankrupt with all the cash circulating =/

WoW is shit, i would never play that. Gunz is much better, only quit it cause it ruined my hands =/

 

We all know rs2 will have ended when Zezima is selling his account here.
Rs3 needs to happen pretty soon though and maybe jagex can actually have Horse riding which would be freakin sweet.

 

i can see the end coming... did you see the update today... now nonmembers can vote in the rs poles... this probably happened cause none of the members care about poles.... and they made the party room avalible to nonmembers...

 

You seriously think RS players will migrate to World Of Warcraft? *Laughed my ass off* That game sucks and is for people who don't have a life, and you gotta buy the software for like 40 bucks and then you gotta pay a membership every month? It's an absolute waste of money. And people say the game is addicting, so it could deprive you of your life too. RS isn't addicting at all, people say it is, but it isn't. Cause you will feel like logging out after playing for an hour. EDIT: The game is very slow-paced. Well you could actually get addicted to any game, if you don't have a life or anything better to do. But most likely you won't get addicted to RuneScape.

 

I think its far from dying

 

It will die when the addicts realize how much the game has affected their life and how much time of their lives' that they have wasted.

 

I just dont see how they can survive when they keep initiating new things for exclusive use by F2P members....


Its hilarious, they pay jack shit, and they get stuff done for them, while paying members get jacked around, they have their priorities fucked up. This is just my personal opinion, im sure others see it differently.

 

I don't think so. Jagex will probably either increase skills, get more skills, or make better graphics. A huge update that will attract many more.
