Stop creating unnecessary drama...

This is feedback about the staff causing unnecessary drama using a current case as a case-study.

Completely uncalled for, unneeded, "drama" provoking, crap. We were not bickering, we were having a discussion, in the spam forum, where theres really no rules. Disallowing members from discussing what they wish to discuss is called censorship. Censorship is not taken kindly. Things that are not taken kindly are fought against. Fighting causes "drama". See the cycle?

Secondly, what has locking my thread done? Nothing beneficial. You have not removed the "drama", you have only created it. If you do not like the thread, don't look at it. On a larger scale, censorship has caused massive amounts of "drama" in this community. Look at the video chat issue. What caused that? I am willing to say that almost all "drama" is just staff illusions that are then turned into real "drama" when they try to censor said "drama".

tl;dr; Let us talk about what we want to talk about and everyone will be much happier.

 

I agree with whoever made the decision to close the thread. There are many immature drama queens on this site. They can't keep those kinds of things to spam, there would eventually have been a thread in a more frequently visited section. And long behold, there is.

I somewhat agree with SuF, if for no other reason than simply because it was in the spam forum. The discussion wasnt really malicious either, if they are going to discuss an issue like that then better behind the doors of the spam forum then here in the feedback section.

 

My thread was not drama at all.

It wasn't even an issue. Darren's situation is years old now. Tyro seems to feel like debating with me, so I went with it and it was quite fun. It was the spam forum, and locking the thread just creates annoyance and dislike.

 

And let the drama begin.^_^

"Avoiding" drama never works, all it does is delay the drama for another time or just create more drama. The drama needs to be tackled rather than avoided.

So SuF, in regards to spam forum threads about banned users, what would you like changed?

Remember though, we lock many of the why is ___ banned threads due to ongoing investigations and the banned members request to have them locked.

 

You have missed the larger point I brought up. The example I used is only an example. Essentially, the staff need to be able to figure out what will cause drama, what is causing drama, and the best way not to cause drama. This requires a real understanding of drama, which it seems, no one really seems to know. Then, using good judgement, staff members could not only much more effectively keep the peace, but at the same time keep the members happy and thus keep the tensions between the users and the staff unstrained.

In regards to spam forum threads, banned users should have no say in threads about them being locked. Staff members should also not lock threads where in people are talking about why someone may have been banned. A simple post stating that there is currently an investigation undergoing, even if you do not reveal the ban reason is perfectly acceptable. In this way, members would be able to understand some of what is going on, and the members would be able to talk about the ban or joke around. If a thread such as this were to get out of hand (for spam forum standards), the thread could then be locked with a moderator explaining that the thread contained too much flaming, or whatever, and that is why it is locked. Users should also be able to create new threads after a lock such as this, as long as this new thread does not cross the line of overly rambunctious.

 

Clarify what you're referring to as "drama"?

 

I really need to follow my pledge to stop using that word. Theres a few ways that I feel may explain it.

Disrespectfully and or untruthfully (overreacting / blowing something out of proportion) voicing ones opinion about an issue.
Anything that is labeled drama.
Something that creates tension between users, the staff or others.

And let's isolate things to just THIS forum please, whatever happens on another forum should STAY on that forum - we are doing the same, and any events which happen here do not spill over to a certain site; you know what I'm talking about. This feedback section is for Sythe.org only.

 

Also just a side-note, I'm going to avoid getting involved in this, I just felt a better description was in order so we could all understand the bigger picture

 

Your description is good, but does not really capture everything about what it really is in regards to internet society.

I also do not see why you want events isolated between this site and the new site that is not allowed to be talked about, yet everyone talks about it anyways and I think its really dumb that we just can't say ******.org because its getting annoying as hell being all cryptic. (End rant). I'm not referring to any of that here. Only Sythe matters. Btws.

 

We'll try our best in the future to explain more on locked threads. Keep in mind sometimes we do not release ban reasons for privacy reasons.
