    Tips on not getting SCAMMED

Im going to continue on this thread to help people not get scammed. Personally, on my first day, I lost over $90. Chargebacks/Reverse's and dodgy payment sendings.

    1. Always expect the buyer to go first.
    2. Best trading with someone which is Verified on Paypal
    3. Try trading with someone with atleast 10 vouchs.
    4. Check what they write in the note.
    5. Make sure they dont write any fake information on the payment.
    6. Another big tip is try to keep the same customers, new customers are a much bigger risk because you dont know them and you dont know if they are legit or not. Regardless of how many vouches.
7.Read vouches, each and every one of them. Don't judge people on quantity of vouches because many are junk for skill training etc. These services are often botted anyway so the provider has done nothing.

    6&7 added from wiredgamings post.

    An example below:

    1. It's a money request not a payment.
    2. They changed the subject to trick you.
    3. They bullshitted the note.

So a few pointers to help you out:

    1. Check your paypal balance.
    2. If its not an instant payment, refuse to trade any gold until the payment clears, dont even do 50/50.
3.Same applies for a echeque which is 3-5 Working days.
4.Check your email ALWAYS. This will confirm if it is a payment or a money request.

People to watch out for that have scammed me so far: "Emails"

    [email protected] [PayPal Email] [Reported]
[email protected] [Paypal Email] [MSN: [email protected]]

I hope this thread helps new gold sellers or even experienced gold sellers.
Please do not rant about the thread.
People which have scammed me should be "named and shamed"
Please provide any feedback about this thread?

    Tips on not getting SCAMMED

I sometimes accept payments from people who don't have verified paypals but only when they can screenshot their homepage inside their paypal account and show me that they have the funds inside their account already. I only offer to sell unverified accounts a maximum of 10m at a time because I can deal with a small loss like that. I also offer player auctions which guarentee to secure payments, so for a fee I am much more likely to actually get my money and not get scammed.

Another big tip is try to keep the same customers, new customers are a much bigger risk because you dont know them and you dont know if they are legit or not. Regardless of how many vouches.

Thanks, I accept the feedback. I might start using PlayerAuctions to avoid being scammed. But I agree with the part of keeping loyal and trusted customers. Ill be adding a portion of your feedback to help my thread.

So if you make them send payment as a gift does that mean there's no way they can charge back? There has to be a way where there's 100% no way of them charging back...right..?

Actually there is a chance that they can charge back using the "Unauthrozed Claim" option. Then it will look abit dodgy to paypal when you have about 20 "Gift" trades in 1 day.

    So always be careful.

Refer my thread to all your friends on sythe too :)

Get this out there. We can stop scammers together

To my knowledge Player Auctions is the safest option but it does cost an arm and a leg in fees.

I know you have good intentions but it is impossible to eliminate scamming on Sythe. You never know who can scam, it could be literally anyone. Highly trusted members and even mods have been caught scamming...

With my 150 vouches now on Sythe, I require the party I trade with to go first. This requires trust from the other people as well.
You just have to be as safe as you can.

Yeah, but if we can spot them out, people wont fall for them again and again.

They can make a new IP and sythe account easily but i doubt they will recreate a whole paypal account and added banks and all that in it.

Anyways, refer to other new users or anyone which trades gold.

Actually people will make new paypal accounts or one that has nothing to do with their name. They don't have to be bank-funded to send or recieve money, it's not that hard...

Wow, I can't believe how clever the scammers are getting.

I personally never do 50/50s, anyone who does this = trade with caution.

Very nicely written, I've seen many people complain about getting scammed by the "money request scam" on paypal, thanks for the PSA.
