My reason? So idiots have to log in and not freely get msns to scam people.

Yeah, well if they don't have a account, use a middleman, surely if sythe didn't want guests to view the forum he would disable it, but as he hasn't he wants it.

But yeah, I agree. Removing guest access will most likely help a bit with scams.

 

Erm, I think that Sythe will go with the first idea. It's your own stupidity if you get scammed. Always do a background check / review the credibility of their vouches.

 

Simple solution : Don't trade with people without an account.

Two reasons I do not support this thread:
1. Ads bring in money. Fewer views = less money
2. Fewer people would join sythe.org as a result of making it registered only. That may be a good or bad thing to you, idk, but I consider that bad for the above reason and that sythe.org will not have as many new, honest members coming in.

2. More people actually, I know from personnel experience and running a site. If i see a registered only site that I want on I'll register 99% of the time. Also I believe we could find ways to make up for the cost.

 

This wouldn't dramatically reduce the number of scams in my opinion. Like Jimmy said, don't trade anyone without accounts. It's really simple..

 

I don't see the difference it will make. It takes 12 seconds to make an account. Simple, use an MM, or don't trade with them.

 

Quote of the day lol. I think restricted access to the Blackmarket section for RUNESCAPE is a great idea, as most scams involve runescape on here. Browsing the other markets, and seeing the mount of activity on this site should be enough to get someone to join, if not, then so be it. This way, all the ads and such or whatever that issue was won't occur.

 

lol the blackmarket is most active category probably i used to use it but i dont anymore except i go in there for training the odd time lol

Viper pretty much covered it. It's annoying to have to register, and a lot of members start out as lurkers. It also kills ad revenue, and as a trader, you can easily ask the other person for their Sythe name (or lack thereof) if it matters to you.
