This mainly applies to the gold selling forum but I've seen it on others as well.

Well as I'm sure some of the law fanatics know, a law has recently been passed as of the 1st of march 2011 it is now illegal to advertise on the Internet stating that something is the:

    Cheapest
    Fastest
    or
    Best

    of anything.

Now I know sythe.org follows the real world law pretty strictly and I must admit it is annoying clicking a link when they say they're the cheapest to find out they're in fact the most expensive:

http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1049098 - Title has now been changed however still stating it in his original post.

http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1023677 - Another example of quickly browisng the first page on selling RSGP.

You should also notice that sythe.org's advertisements have also changed.

gold4rs.com have changed their 'fastest, cheapest most reliable' advertisement to a special offer and player auctions have changed their advertisement by removing the words 'guaranteed safety'.

What I'm proposing is to stop members advertising any of the 3 words above in their titles and/or first post unless they can prove that they are the cheapest, fastest or best. Or just simply ban it all together.

This may also stop scams when an offer seems too good to be true and the gp seller usually comes out with 100m less and $150 charged back.

It's pretty late for me at the minute but in the morning I'll post a link up to back-up my statement that it is against the law... and pretty annoying.

Nah, it's just people being silly. Let dumb people be dumb, it's not something worth banning them.

I wasn't suggesting we ban them for doing it. I was suggesting we attempt to remove the sillyness.

We've done it with glitch guides. I think plznate lives looking for new dung/staking glitches to remove them. Just simply post on their topic or change their title.

Seing as it's against the law for companies to advertise like this i see it's only fair.

People are allowed to advertise their services as being the best.

Only thing we don't allow is tags like "trusted" as we have ranks which indicate trust.
