Need help with online videos and music.

Our house has two computers. One desktop with windows xp and a laptop with vista.

When i am looking online sometimes i find a video i want to watch. When I click a song/video, it opens up in windows media player and takes a copule seconds to buffer then streams the song. (this is on the xp desktop)

Now on the laptop I click the same video/song and it dosent open up in windows meida player. Instead it pops up a box with the only option to save.

I want to watch videos/songs on my laptop so any ideas how to without saving every video i want to watch?

 

What kind of videos. Built in media-players with the website? Or just a link ending with the extension ".avi, .mp3, etc.." If it's the last option, then it will always open up with Windows Media Player.

You need to set the default application for that type of file to be Windows Media Player. Usually installing another type of audio/video software might take priority over Windows Media Player. To fix this, save the file to the desktop, right click click on it, select open with, chose windows media player, and make sure the box is checked to use this as the default player for all these file types. It should be just like you are use too. Hope this helps.
