I am starting to get the jist of it now and making my work look better.

 

Not bad, if your using PS- Make the back ground fade more and put the character on a separate layer. Then increase the hue of purple to make it stand out more.
Good job tho

 

Its nice, id blend the render a bit more along with the text

 

Yeh I use GIMP i knwo what your thinking its crap but I have grown up with it and only know how to use it but I am just learning how to do things like that with the colour dodge ect. So yeh thanks for the up though guys.
