Not sure if this has been suggested, but I have never seen it. I suggest that you incorporate a news feed to Sythe.org, possibly into the intelligent discussion section. I think this would keep users informed, but more importantly create interesting and informed discussions. Users could post there opinions on and debate the current news.

I realize that if a user wants to discuss the news they can simply post a thread with a current issue. However, I think that having a feed directly to the site would increase the activity and the amount of discussions in the intelligent discussions section and for that matter, on the site.

Also, I might be wrong on this but I think that would also make us show up on Google search results when people searched certain headlines. We would be way down the list below the major news sites, but there is still a possibility of bringing in some traffic.

I like this idea, but I'm not sure who you would consider a viable source. The only way to make this work would be to incorporate RSS into the forums, and then add stations like MSNBC, BBC, and others world-wide to the feed.

If sythe were to bring RSS feeds in, there would have to be a new section for it to stop it from dropping threads. I like the idea however it will liven up the debate section a bit with new topics.

I think we have enough load on our server as it is... let alone adding RSS feed pulling. I also don't think this is possible without a forum mod which I don't really have time for.

You could always post a topic with a link to a story and discuss it that way.
