I made this for fun, props to Vision for showing me how to do the leather effect. I don't like it much, but thought I should post.

Maybe make the text a touch darker so it doesn't pop out as much?

    Otherwise, it looks great, 8/10

scale the pattern more/less (i can't remember which one i mean... make the pattern smaller), add lighting, i remember that vision ex posted the tut somewhere, with the 1px white lines to make the leather effect :)

I think that you did well on the stitching. Make your edges of the leathers softer on the straight lines, though. The sharpness of the lines leaves aliasing, which distracts from the simplicity of the concept. Also, make sure that you have a lighting source dropping down on it. This is easy enough by applying, Filter>Render>Lighting Effects. You can choose what you feel is best, but it should look much better afterward. You'll need to stitch the inside of your logo also, not just the outside. I know it's tie consuming, but it has to look like a quality piece of material. Use the Rule of Thirds, by moving your logo to the left just a bit.

Also: If you were going to make, 'Clank' on the red layer, with the black layer being cut into, you need to stitch up around that circle, too, and make sure that drop shadow doesn't fall so far on the inside. I actually recommend ditching the entire idea of your text being in the cut-out area. The text on the inside would look better as a simulated stitch, without the distracting circle. :)

Here's my original, to show you again how these ideas work:

Note that I stitch both sides of the logo, and drop the shadows specifically for depth, then add the lighting effects. I dropped the shadows downward, knowing I would make the lighting effects fall from top-down. My leather effect is also a bit less harsh than yours. I know you know how to use it, but yours looks like that pattern still, instead of a mildly noticeable texture. It's fine on the white, average on the red, and too dark on the black.
