My desktop just got infected by some Antivirus Software that keeps making me try to buy it, does not let me do anything on the pc -_- I rebooted to safe mode, ran malwarebyte, ran my avast 5.0 NOTHING, WTF DO I DO -.-
I did that and it didn't work. I even restored my computer and my computer is still not normal it's acting weird but either than that it's useable. Just hire a geek to come look at it, I think they're from best buy?
Try HiJackThis. http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ Scan it and post the file on a forum and someone can help you. Probably better than what most people on Sythe can do. Also, I suggest Spybot rather than MWB. http://forums.techguy.org/54-virus-other-malware-removal/ Explain the situation and post you HiJackThis log. Hopefully that helps. If all else fails, reformat ):
No idea, i was just surfing google then it suddenly hit me. i may have to start considering buying Avast Pro instead of using Avast Free edition for a web-shield.
Ah my mom has Avast Pro. Don't you find it slows your computer down? Check out BitDefender if you want something good ... Juss' Sayin'. I love it. I've had McAffee, Trend Micro, Norton, Kaspersky, Avast, Nod 32 aaaaandddd... *thinks* nah I think that's it. And well, BitDefender pwns them all. In the nutz. If they have a trial version, check it out man ;P
I've had avast for years and years , maybe going to the 4th year now? I love Avast ^^. It detected a Trojan that Mcafee + Kaspersky could not find. I had those two for 10 days trial for full service. But the free avast just won. So yeah I just find it odd why my avast inst picking up anything on this virus tho. After system restore Malwarebytes picked it up and i remove the threat, but Avast couldnt.
Avast is more directed towards virus's in general whilst Malware is targeted towards Spyware and Adware, so it makes sense, no? If you ever get a chance, check out BitDefender. I only used Avast when my computer caught something nasty... it wasn't detected by Avast and Bitdefender caught some of it, while Spybot cleaned the rest of it up It's also REALLY easy on memory. I never even knew it was running. The only downside was that you can't turn it off. It's ALWAYS running. Not sure if they changed it in the 2011 version (I had 2010). It even has a "Game Mode" which kinda sets all the settings down to use less memory. Well worth the look at imo. Get Total Security if you get it, though, haha
