This will probably rub you the wrong way but it's an honest opinion;it's music like this is exactly what makes rap/hip-hop today shitty, all that crap about supposed haters/money/music/women/drugs/alcohol/parties etc. when the reality is completely the opposite. "Haters" is the most abundant and generic topic in hip-hop and there's really not much to be said that's new; one of the most overplayed themes - just look at the "related" section on that song. It's incredibly annoying talking about money and fame when they clearly don't enjoy either at any extent.

That said the person singing sounds really talented.

Better rappers are the likes of Tupac, Lupe, Mos Def, Jay Electronica etc. ; don't try to mimic them but learn from what they're doing right and see what spin you can put on it and contribute to 'the game'.

I'm glad you're keeping an open mind and didn't take negative feedback as personal. I'll be sure to check it out, though I'm not a huge 'love type' music fan.

I'm more into conscious-based music though anything I can even remotely relate to/quite catchy I'll listen to.
