I'm starting to see (more or less in RS2 cheating) rules are being broken. ill use auth trading for example. If some new kid from powerbot or whatever else fourms if they allow ( idk if they do or don't) he's going to think its fine on sythe. He/she posts and gets infracted like they should.

My idea simply is, first time you click on RS2 cheating fourms (ever) there should be the rules right there, in plain simple language. "no trading/buying/selling of any auth is forrbiden." because some stickies may not make since to newcomers. Then you click continue after a certain waiting time.. say 20 seconds then they can continue on. untill you obtain fourm addict title.

    why should we do this?
Because it would help the fourms out with less people putting up not allowed threads, and because then people can have a good understanding of Sythe's rule's. And also it would somewhat influence people to be active to remove that rule. Also could do this with REPEAT offenders sort of as a another form of punishment.

    Some downfalls
it would annoy people (new comers/ new people) mainly I couldn't think of any more reasons other than actually coding it for EACH section which the admins or who ever does that will not like. Time delay with my idea also. And i'm not sure how they would/could specify who the rule apply's to.

So let's hear it sythe users.. agree or disagree. DISCUSS.

Though the idea does sound good, I doubt it would actually stop people from selling their auths and shit there. Simply read the rules, or suffer a dreadful fate. It's not that hard for people to understand that.

I don't support, anyone that cannot read a sticky and follow the simple rules outlined in it deserves to be punished. The sticky topic alone is already basically spoon feeding them, so there is no reason to give them even more. What is comes down to is that some people will always just choose not to read the rules. Regardless of where you post the rules.

I dont have the forum addict title... and having to click something (ESP TIMED) just to view a forum section would piss me off eventually.

There is a sticky right there that says "Auth trading of any kind is strictly prohibited" or something.

IMO people who are too stupid to even glance at the stickies should be double infracted.

(While I have read nearly every one, and at least scan every user agreement I check yes to, etc)

It's nice, but if they aren't going to read the stickies, they aren't going to read the rules when they first join.

Ahem? There have been many users who tend to spam or legitimately bumping their topics. Post count is obviously not taken seriously on Sythe. I as you can see joined at around 2010, more than a year ago and have known Sythe since 2006. Due to the fact I believe in quality posting rather than quantity posting I should click such a button?

If you really want to make it fair and effective, it should be according to the registration date rather than post count. You can't imagine how many threads I read in contrast to the number of posts I make in such threads. I choose my words precisely and do try to make my posts long enough so they don't seem like spam or like those short "I support because it's BAWS" posts in the Suggestions or Feedback forums.

Although, I highly doubt such a popup will stop the spam. Those who do write to the point in their threads might make such a topic regarding auths, although he will read the rules before making others posts as he's learned that certain things are not allowed on Sythe.org. On the other hand, those whom posts are short and 1337 talk-y won't bother to read that pop up you're suggesting and will just create a suggestion against it saying it's slowing down their spam-interval or something. This will obviously make more spam than it could save.

In other words, I'm against this.

No support, the downfall kills the potential newcomers from wanting to say, as they kept getting met with an annoyance.

Problem is is that how in 5 Seconds are you going to read them, it'd sorta be against it.
10 is probably the most reasonable but thatts just what i thought of.

and thanks for no support guys :p lol just playing.. it was just a thought because i actually read a post about this not sure who wrote it but they were pretty well known but in the homework section they didnt realize that you aren't allowed to sell help or something idk the whole story but then how the hell you expect newcomers to come in and realize it?

second, you think this will drive new people away? it sucks being banned worse than waiting 10 seconds or 20 whatever it would be.. then they run off and tell there friends sythe adnins/mods are ***** because i got banned for something i didnt know.( not saying you guys are, just an EXAMPLE)

third, sure there are stickies.. but like newcomers are going to actually know they should read them. but id also like comments for my punishment part.. say if you get caught trading auths then this applys to you if your caught.. no one has mentioned that at all.

sorry if i sound like an asshole im just really tired lol computer isn't working /: done all this typing on my phone lmao. well continue to discuss please.

Why not just make it redirect you to a specific thread the very first time you visit the forum? It is possible in the default vB settings to do that (at least if I remember correctly). So if it did get approved, every single member would be redirected there, but after the first time, they would never have to read the thread again. I think it's definitely worth a shot, and there's no drawback or downside to it.

I see what your saying only problem is that thats only one time. if your read an entire book once doesn't matter which one, your only going to get a few details. Second time you pick up something you didn't the first.. see what i'm trying to say?

In other words... i would like it to be more than once.. i'm not sure how many times but once won't do much. maybe something like twice every three days. think sythe users could handle that.

There is a feature in later vBulletin forums (or maybe its an add-on) that allows an admin to set a thread that members must view on log-in or visiting of a section, im not sure what else could be done.. we've made stickies in sections that are specific to the rule..

Your supposed to read the rules and stickies when you're a newfag...

If you don't, then you learn from getting an infraction.

I personally have support for this. I think it will help them from becoming infracted right as they walk in, but also help them know the rules.

Its in the title of a sticky, if people don't read the rules themselves then they should be infracted.

The stickies are the top threads in each section... if they can't figure out where they are and don't care to spend a few seconds reading them, then your suggestion would not help at all.
