    Computer Help.

Hey guys I need some help in upgrading my computer.

I know next to nothing about Computers. I know how to type and such but that's about it.

    Here are my specs:

Reasoning is because I can't even play decent games.

    Moved. Thanks, Champion.

    What is your budget?
Your cpu is socket 775, so you will be severely limited unless you replace 90% of your hardware. That doesn't mean it can't be inexpensive though.

What's a CPU socket? Like I said, I know next to nothing about computers.

My budget is around $500-$1K if anything.

We can piece together a pretty nice computer with that budget, would you like to build your own? You learn quite a bit in the process, and end up saving money.

Alright. Give us the computer model so we can help you better. We need to know what components make up the computers to assess what parts need upgrading. Yes, the GPU will need to be replaced like you said. You may keep the RAM though, it should be fine.

I'm guessing he's using an integrated 9400 from the driver picture. If you want to be able to bot or have a better CPU then that'll entail changing your motherboard, the ram, and the CPU. You MAY or may not need to buy a GPU depending on those parts. In example a 3770 CPU ($300) + ($50 ram) + ($100 mobo) = $450 and the onboard GPU is good enough for D3 and GW2. You'd also be able to run 10+ bots with it.

There is also the problem with your case & power supply. It's only 300 watt and a mini case, it won't be able to support a 3770, so you may have to buy a new case and PSU too -.- ($100 for both) Pretty much building a new computer like this, you could just get fx-8120 and some decent GPU, that PSU is enough for it. But you'd be running a lot less names (botting) however it'd be good for everything else, or an i5? Doing that would only be around $250 compared to spending $550 for a much better, pretty much new computer.

    Well, what should I do?

I mean, can't I just get a new GFX Card? Or will that fix nothing at all?

If you want to play games only and not bot then yeah just buy a GPU, you can get a nice one for around $130. If that's what you want I can show you some, just tell me what price you want to pay.

I'm able to just remove my current GFX Card and replace it with the one I buy, correct? No problems should occur?

    Computer Help.

You have to figure out if your computer even has space for a GPU. You can not remove your gpu right now, because it is integrated.

After that, you have to upgrade your psu, because 300W will not cut it.

Next, you have to decide if it is worth it, because your computer is running an older processor, not ment for gaming, and even though it has 6 gigs of ram, it isnt good ram. I believe socket 775 only supports ddr ram, possibly ddr2, but ddr3 is the best out, and it is what you want.

If you want to game hard, you may be looking at a whole new computer. If not, you will experience some bottlenecking I believe.

Now, if you are looking to just upgrade the GPU, go with atleast a GTX 550ti, that is the minimum I ever recommend for gaming. They can be had for roughly $120. You will however need a new PSU, atleast a 550W I believe, 500W might work.
