New Menu Bar

Misspeled the poll, the answers are YES or NO.

I think there should be a menu bar, at the top of the website. It wouldn't replace the current look of the forums index, it would only be added to the top, nothing will be changed. It could look like this:

Support or not support?

I have seen this on another forum and it is really great and I think it would make every part of this forums more active. When you hold your mouse over one of the buttons, it could look like as it looks with the Runescape Market button, a dropdown menu. The example was made in Paint so have some understanding.

 

That would be pretty cool to have and would make navigating the site a bit easier for some people. I wouldn't use it though.

 

I'd use that a lot. Very good idea. Support.

 

Support, it would be so much more easier and a more convenient way to navigate through the forums.

It would have to only be an option because smaller screens would have a fit.

 

Surely that removes the purpose of having an Index that we've spent ages condensing in the first place?

there would be a huge menu bar with all the sections at the top, and what would fill up the rest of the page?
it would be possible with less sections and more subsections, a complete rebuild of sythe would be just as much work :/

 

No support, I like to browse down the index and be able to see the last posted etc so I'd do that anyway. If we're to have a new menu bar, it shouldn't just be the index all over again.

 

Personally, it takes away from the native forum feel. I like the navigation and index as it is. No support =/

 

The current navigation wouldn't be deleted, the menu at the top of the page wouldn't replace it.

 

I think it would be a great option, as it allows for fast navigation if the user decides that they want to use the menu rather than scrolling down through the various sections.

 

I think it would be a great idea provided those that don't like it are able to hide it.

 

I know some people are posting that they'd use it, but I'm not too sure about that. Most people like to see the last post or the most recent thread. I've never been a fan of the "menu bar" that you speak of and I still prefer the old RS index.

 

It looks half decent, but because of all the people saying they would look at the last poster, get rid of the dropdown part and just have runescape markets for example up there
