Runescape Client Update

This is a design that I just created in Photoshop. I'm going to bed, so the hiscore part will be unfinished until tomorrow.

What do you guys think of this though? I'm going to code it after I'm finished, then put it up on my domain (I want to make a fansite too - with user submitted quest guides, monster guides, skill guides, etc).

It's just an easy way to view rare prices, quickly search someone up on the hiscores, stuff like that. I may add more in the future, but not sure. Does it look good, or no?

P.S. This was made because I just started getting into rare trading/collecting/flipping, so I wanted a quick-glance price chart, and I'm also into staking which explains the hiscore look up (useful for everything too). I will probably also add a item look up for the Grand Exchange.

 

That'd be pretty cool but wouldn't you get banned for using it because of the lack of using adverts from the RS page.

 

most likely not, jagex can't find out if you disabled ad or not.

 

it defiantly looks good, but i also have something else to reccomend, instead of having the rare prices up the top, try having them on the right hand side so it doesn't look completely bare

 

Pretty sure the amount of people using my client would be miniscule compared to the amount using Swiftkit or the official client, so I think I'd be safe.

Maybe Grand Exchange look up on the right?

 

Not a wise choice to have the rare prices on top.

There's a difference between the G.E price and street price. The G.E is never fast enough to keep up with the street, hence rendering the G.E prices pretty much useless.

I suggest you remove that and instead join "R Quark" FC if you'd like updates on the price. An example is Red Partyhat is almost 100M lower than the actual G.E price (If it's stil at 1.33).

Would this be open to the public, or yourself only? And would it be like SwiftKit where you have an application? Basically you don't play Runescape on your web browser.

 

I know there's a difference, but it's still nice to know the Grand Exchange value.

It would be open to the public, and it would be in a browser (on a webpage), not downloadable like Swiftkit.

 

yer thats what i mean, put that on the side and maybe have an option to put your like 10 favorite items up the top or something?

 

I guess, at least you'd know which way rares are/were headed.

And could you even put RuneScape on full screen? Or would that highscore bar block a big part of the screen?

 

I mean I could keep the rare prices up top, and on the side have an ordinary item price look-up lol.

I'm still working out details.. But yeah, the bar shouldn't take up too much space, so making the screen bigger should work fine. It would all depend really on your resolution.

 

Those are two really good features. The Rares for merchants and flippers, and the HighScores for those people like me, who when Skilling like to see the levels of the players around me.

As for the actual graphical view of the client, it looks alright. I bit unprofessional with a lot of empty space, but you mentioned it was still a work in progress so I guess it's alright.

What will this be coded in?

 

Not gonna lie, Looks pretty awesome! Those small features like Ge, and hi-scores make it really useful! Id like to use this sometime in the future.

^ this. Tbh why dont you just use swiftkit? they have basically the same thing your trying to make. But other then that id say the design/layout looks pretty good

 

He probably knows about Swiftkit, but just wanted to be able to make something for himself to use. Everythings where he wants it to be, and he may have even wanted to make it.

 

Exactly. And for the second comment, I will fill it up a bit more, I have some good ideas for when I get home tonight.

Yes, and Swiftkit doesn't have the rare values like I want them across the top.

 

Maybe the items should be optional. Meaning you can change it to whatever youd like?
