Okay I currently have a crappy Dell D620 which sucks to run anything.

I'm in the market for a new laptop. I have 450-600$ to spend at the most.

I need it to be able run Runescape without it crashing every minute when im running around.
Also i use my laptop to download 5-10 songs every week or so. So needs a decent memory amount.
And i will be using it for school so not to big but not to small so somewhere in the middle.
Doesn't have to be top of the line but my current laptop is shit. So nothing like a dell d620.
Anyone have any opinions on what i should buy?

That is pretty good for the price.

Has a nice 2.5Ghz quad core capable of 3.1Ghz
    6GB RAM
    1TB HDD

Only downfall is it has a integrated graphic card, Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but if your using for RS and school it will work perfectly.

Also with the 15.6" screen it isn't to small nor to big.

EDIT: Also has free shipping right now. Get yourself a deal.

FYI that i5 in the laptop above is DUAL core, not quad-core.
BUT, the laptop mentioned above is probably going to be your BEST bet for your price ceiling of 500. the major hindering factor with that laptop is its integrated card.. which should play rs decently, albeit probably not at any of the fancier settings smoothly.

if you are willing to push your price up by just a touch(only 100 more), you can get pretty much the same laptop, with MUCH more potent internals, and you will be much happier in the long-term with the added expense...Integrated cards are simply obsolete. I can't really recommend something you'll be happy with for a while with your budget, but i can help you if you want to stretch it just a hair.. >>

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834200611R

In comparison to the sub-500 dell mentioned previously:

    this has the i7 quad-core with the 6mb cache vs the i5 dual-core with 3mb l3 cache
8 gigs RAM vs 6 gigs RAM
    still has a 1TB hdd
has a 1gb DEDICATED card vs the integrated card
has the intel centrino-N (FAR better range and speed stability)wireless card vs the dell integrated networks card

For the price, that's a very potent machine...and it'll be able to do nearly anything you want, without becoming a dinosaur within a few years..
another EXCELLENT option would be this one
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246626

This lenovo doesn't have the i7, but the GPU is slightly more potent than the previous Dell I mentioned. It also has less ram, but that's extremely cheap to upgrade... overall though the first one I mentioned above is a better deal, since it's easy to overclock the GPU on the Dell if you wanted better performance out of it.

both of those will allow you to play games other than runescape if you wanted, and at decent settings too. Both of them will be able to play runescape maxed out, though.

Ok you are right, that laptop I suggested is a dual core. But it supports hyperthreading so it will act as if it was a quad core.

Also the Dell you suggested is discountinued and that is a open box. So you are risking getting something rough.

http://www.dell.com/us/soho/p/inspiron-15-intel-n5040/pd?~ck=mn wouldnt be so excited with this one myself as it is an i3. look around on the site any questions you have about specs that i can help you with i will.

I5 ivy bridge for 549.99 + tax with free shipping. Just below $600 after taxes if I'm not mistaken.

Intel 4000 is a tad bit lower in performance with GT525, but not by much. For what you're saying you want to do, it sounds fine. 14" screen and its a thinkpad (though its an edge), so decent build on laptop.

If you want to spend a bit more ~650 range, here's an I5 with dedicated GPU.

These two deals probably won't last too long. I give it a week or so.
