Not buying runescape gold doesnt make any sense

With how cheap gold is and how much time you can save you would have to be a fool to not buy gold

thats true , its save tons of time for u (quests item's for pking etc...)

 

I found that buying gold ruined the game for me to some extent. I started playing on an iron and enjoy the actual grind that comes with it. Having enough gold to buy anything in the game gets old...in my opinion.

 

Having gp is only fun to an extent as @Trey said. I've won a few bil at the arena and it honestly took all the fun out of the game. Why pick up a 10m item when you have 10b. Ended up giving a lot away and selling the rest. Sitting at tbow+ 400m seems to be the sweet spot for me where I still enjoy getting lower priced drops and not struggling with supplies/time.

 

Unless you actually enjoy playing the game, instead of paying someone to play it for you

but yeah im getting 1b today or tomorrow , just because its easier than grinding it & gives acess to better content

i have an ironman i have been playing recently while cleaned and it has made me realise i enjoy grinding as opposed to earning it legitimately.

 

So with most overworld jobs having the capability to generate much more mils per hour than in game activities, this makes sense. Some people enjoy farming though and there is also the risk of being banned, although the risk is low the possibility is still there. Some people also create video series or streams which are closely watched and where buying gold isn't an option.

 

I agree, to an extent. Gold is good to have but you can't technically buy skill.

 

Buying gold is the single thing that ruined the game now. I don’t love the grind anymore. In my head I see the GP as real money and the grind as who can I pay to do this because I don’t want to anymore. It sucks and I wish I could take it back so I could enjoy the game.

 

1. Some people enjoy the grind
2. Some people prefer having the actual feeling of accomplishment when reaching certain game goals
3. Some people don't want to risk their accounts getting banned(regardless how low the chances are)
4. Some people think it's stupid to spend money on games
5. Some people prefer spending their extra money on other things instead

 

It is surprising to me to see so many people say "buying gold ruined the grind/game for me" as if gp magically maxes out your account. Even with all the gold you could ever need it still takes countless hours to max. How many of the people above have actually engaged in all the available content and maxed their selves? I'd say slim to none if I had to guess. Even on rs3 where you can literally buy exp it doesn't necessarily ruin the game/grind because the game doesn't even start until you have a max cape imo. Just my two cents.

 

i think its because you start to look at RSGP as a actual currency instead of a game currency so you don't want to spend it. and plus the grind to getting the money is better then the grind of actually sitting and clicking something that only takes 2 brain cells to do.

 

I think its pretty fair to say people wouldn't buy gold in the first place if they didn't want to spend it or resell it. Even maxing the cheapest way possible you will spend ~1.2b which comparatively to what you would gain spending that amount in other popular mmo's I'd say that is very fair. That isn't even taking account for gear setups for raids which honestly seems to me to be most peoples main concern. If all you do is raid then you will obviously get bored, that has nothing to do with how much gold you have. You can enjoy the game just as much with everything as you can with nothing. It is all about the way you choose to perceive it, and how creative you are willing to be to find ways to enjoy the game aside from the obvious bandwagon content.

 

it's because not everyone has a goal of having maxed stats. some just wants to be fully pimped with the best gear.

it does. it gets you to the goal immediately, leaving them with nothing else to do

 

yeah im just giving you my personal input and what happened to me. other people will do/think differet. i was explaining how i lost interest in the game.
