Problems with iPhone notifications

Hey.

I have two problems with my iPhone 4s.

The first problems is about why the iPhone doesn't "update" a few apps (mail and Instagram) by itself. Instagram updates itself sometimes. They doesn't show up on the lock up screen and they don't have any numbers in the right upper corner on them on the home screen. Really annoying.

The second problem it about why Instagram doesn't make any sounds (when it says on Settings it should). This is also really annoying.

From personal experience with my iPhone 4S, I've always had to manually update my apps. Never heard of apps automatically updating for you.

Don't understand what you mean by showing up on the lock screen. All updates show up in the app app.

Check to see if you have the volume turned off for instagram in settings, if not, then there's no sound. Obviously, have your volume on and up, no headphones plugged in.

Might have water damage too, if you can't hear other noises besides instagram.

 

Settings->Sound->Put it to max
Visit the app store daily and check update.
