GPU: D: Why aren't you going with Nvidia? >.< If you want to stick with that then you can, although always remember Nvidia > AMD.
PSU: Eh it's alright, personally I would go for Corsair or another well known brand.
    RAM: Seems ok.
Motherboard: I think I have the same, either way it's good.
CPU: I'd go for Intel i5, but this is 'ok'.
    HDD: Absolutely fine.

    Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196

Disc drive, you honestly don't need anything fancy for this, this should be fine - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136247

It should be fine for what you want to do on it, although don't expect to throw anything fancy at it. Not even my PC can max Battlefield 3 :p

I don't even know what battlefield 3 is, so I should be good :p

As far as the GPU goes, the only GeForce on sale was 260+ which isn't what I wanted to spend.
Again, the only Intel i5 was $230+ with integrated Graphics 4000 which I did not need. I'd rather get a super cheap AMD than an overpriced Intel.

    Thanks for the advice :)

Was looking at this for the case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042

The Intels are more expensive for a reason-

    http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i7-3770k-i5-3570k_6.html#sect0

Also that MOBO is AM1 and the CPU is AM3+, so I do not think they will go together. Everything else looks fine though!

Oh man, thanks for catching that.
I think I may switch back to intel in that case. (just an i3 though)

*Nevermind you did choose the i5*

If you wanted to save money, you could get the i5 2500k or even the regular 3570 if you don't plan on overclocking.

i5 3570K.. The awesome gaming CPU for a good price..
About the GPU, I suggest you go with the new GTX 660... It's 220$ but worth it.
    Case is good.
    PSU.. try this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027
    MOBO is fine.
    RAM go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
    Case is good..
    HDD I'd suggest a WD 64MB Cache SATA 3 6.0GB/s http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533
    It's only 15$ more than a 500GB WD one it's simply awesome..
    Get a 60GB SSD :D

God you have no idea what you're talking about, performance-wise there is practically no difference in the equivalents anymore. Nvidia just ends up costing you more.

He won't notice the differences between AMD or intel unless he is doing extremely CPU heavy tasks such as compiling videos or low level emulation.

For the money AMD is a fine choice.

Okay. I saw the very impressive benchmarks. But for a budget build do I really need it?

I'm only really into small games like [IMG].
I barely even play LoL anymore.

You can show statistics all you want, but please show me identical builds of computers playing the exact same game.

The difference will be negligible to unnoticeable. I've noticed (in my own experience) that intel is only noticeably better when put up to extremely strenuous tasks, like the above examples.

They are identical with the exception of the MOBO. The AMD gets beat consistently in games by 30 FPS or so. In far cry upwards of 80.

But look at the actual FPS listed, you simply won't notice the difference in that range.

Thats because they are using a GTX 580. Using a lesser graphics card will give you lesser FPS, dropping it into a range where even 15 FPS difference is completely noticeable, which is why the AMD is not a good choice for gaming.

Then prove it with a less powerful graphics card? My AMD system runs most games listed (never played Crysis Warhead or starcraft) at similar frame rates while using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103996 and a 6850 card.
