Is it worth buying it?

Ive seen gameplay and it looks really fun, but is it the same stuff over and over? Like how COD is. Would love to get your guys thoughts.

 

its not repetitive like cod, because in this people are actually trying with a real competitive system in place. its not really bringing anything new to the genre, but the characters are lovable which i believe is a large reason for the attraction and success of the game compared to its counterpart battleborn. if you like fast paced games that never really gets old due to counter picking and such, OW is your game.

 

Overwatch peaks itself with its lore (Although the current depth of it is debatable) and how well made its heroes and soundtrack are.

A week before I bought the game, I watched the lore videos, particularly between Hanzo & Genji, both characters in the game and are actually brothers too. Coupled with the fact that they also have some interesting dialogue in-game (Hanzo & Genji aren't the only ones to have interesting dialogue), it makes the characters you play feel alive. Maybe it's just me but you get the picture.

The gameplay is excellent. The ultimate abilities which each hero possesses can be used in a different set of situations, in fact, some of these abilities can even turn the tides of battle when victory seems bleak on your side. However, the game itself is still fairly new and Blizzard is still buffing/nerfing heroes.

It's a great game, I am sure it is worth the money.

 

Is it worth the money? No.

Overwatch is basically copy/paste of team fortess 2 , the gameplay the feeling of it is very very similliar. I personally wouldn't pay once again for overwatch as i think it's quite a shame that blizzard couldn't make something on their own, and made copied game.
I was expecting something new and unique.
It just show that blizzard is dying slowly.

 

If you like first person shooters but you want more variety, overwatch is the game for you. The engine feels very TF2-esque in regards to movement, but the cast of heroes available to play makes it the game it is.

 

Don't listen to this guy, OP. He literally has no idea what he's saying. Sure, it is as @Soul calls it "TF2-esque", but it is it's own game with its own story, playstyle, and unique characters. It's absolutely insane. I haven't been able to put the game down in a while. I'd highly recommend buying it.

 

I couldn't disagree with you more. Is WoW a rip off of Runescape? Is CoD a rip off of Doom? Is Halo a rip off of Unreal Tournament? No game is 100% "Original", everything is just someone's fantasy that people build off of. The "OW Is a TF2 clone" argument as gotten really, really stale. I'm surprised we are still seeing it this far after the game's release.

YES! For $40 ($60 if you're on console, soz, still worth it imo btw), this game honestly has been the most fun I've had online in a LONG time. The game is only going to become more complex as time goes on and more heroes / maps come out. Don't let the fact that there is a small/medium number of maps, and only 4 "categories" of heroes fool you. The game feels completely different based on which character you're playing, and is even more so manipulated based on the teamcomp you have, then even moreso when you take into account the comp you're facing. I think it's easy to think that it would be stale, but once you start playing it you realize that it's a game that will be around for a LONG time. Blizzard is not Ubisoft / Activision / EA. They don't sacrifice the quality of their games to pump out sequels, rather let their games live a long, healthy cycle.

Amazing game, but it kinda died down for me because I had nobody to play with. I play every now and then, but I can't sit there and grind.

 

I feel it man. It's not that I don't have fun with it, but my friends have the same feelings towards it so we only play like 4-5 games at a time every now and again. I still have a ton of fun with it but I can't grind it out like I could when it first was released.

 

Very fun if you get into competitive and get a good group of people you can play regularly with

 

Still contemplating if I want to buy over watch or not . Should I at least buy it and try it out ?

 

Definitely! I've been having a blast with Overwatch and with the new season coming out soon for ranked it'll be fun to tryhard in ranked.
