What gaming headset is top of the line?

Right now I have the Turtle Beach PX21 which I love for gaming, but my fiancee is starting to get into gaming too so I was going to upgrade to a newer pair and give her the PX21 - the only question is, what should I get?

I love the TB but I have heard great things about a lot of others as well. Here is a list of what I have been looking at - feel free to make your own recommendations please.

Needs to work for PC and 360 and/or PS3

I don't care if it is wireless or not, doesn't bother me either way, I'm just looking for something that is comfortable, durable and provides great sound quality - price isn't an issue with this as I want to find something that will last me a good while.

Stick with Turtle Beach, I've found that they've last longer and are an more efficient headset then most.

 

I was thinking of trying something new but I'll wait to see what kind of feedback I get about Logitech's, Astro's, Tritton's and Turtle Beaches

 

I have used quite a few headsets myself - I personally prefer TurtleBeach's HPA2s (over their new Z6A's, because the bass was reduced in the Z6A's and I listen to music with them as well). I have heard from a friend (claims to be an audiophile) that the A40's are top of the line gaming headset as of now... At least I believe that's the ones he recommended - I'll double check now.

 

That's on my top - are they durable? Like I won't have to worry about them shorting out after like a month or so?

^IMO would be a good place to ask.

 

If it was just PC then I would instantly recommend Logitech G35. However, seeing as your on console I would say just get another PX21, in the time I had them they were ok. I won't be getting one again though, the wire snapped for me after a few months and Turtle Beach did fuck all about it.

 

I'd say the A-40's for gaming I had them before.

 

^Everyone's saying basically the same thing,
There's probably like one type of headset out there that's better than the Turtle Beach's,
Stick to Turtle Beach.

 

I trust the weasel so I'll prob go with the A 40's.

 

They are all the same and I bought a pair of TB's for $20 and they work fine.
