Name idea

Just came to me as I was browsing this forum.

In the Sythe MMORPG wouldn't it be cool if you could add effects to your name?

Eg. Colour, bold, underline, etc.

But it would be best if the name was allowed only one effect.

Or the special characters such as: ¿, ƒ, Ü, etc.

I would understand if the special characters weren't allowed, because how would you look them up? (If there will be highscores) In addition, for the highscores, with regards to this name suggestion, if a named is bolded or underlined, or colourful in the highscores you should still be able to look them up as they are. For example:

Rubber Duqi in the highscores would simply be "Rubber Duqi" no codes involved.

That's all I can come up with, I'll surely be back if I do think of something else though

 

Special characters mean that reporting is nigh on impossible.

And why would you feel the need to have a diffrent name colour ect... It seems frivilous and unnecesary and something you'd be unable to incorperate into the game without an extreme degree of gayness and unrealisticness.

 

Yea, special characters came into my head whilst I was typing that, and I had doubts for them.
And why not add colours? I mean cyan: white: red: in RS make colours, so why would it be any different from this, besides the fact that it would be your (or someones) name, as apposed to your message

 

I'm sure it will entertain the 10 year olds who may play the game.

people really shouldnt flame though, it is only a suggestion

 

And no reason to like it. Nothing special, it's just a small idea. I do agree with Wood Mime, no reason to have it. And if you have heard of something called ROLE-PLAYING, it would be hard to role play if your character had SmithStar984 as their name. I think names should be like it is in MUD's. It can't be SmithStar-whatever.

 

i dont think its a very good idea, considering it could get confusing at times when people have all these different colours, just hurts the eyes.

 

i like it we need to learn how to incorperate it into the reporting sytem if possible
