Will rs die?

I've been contemplating on this for sometime now...
Will runescape die out when mechscape is release?
Two points to this:
1. Players not playing anymore, causing you to lose interest.
2. Runescape trading (blackmarket mostly) kicking the bucket.

Discuss and offer some insight.

 

Not at all.

Runescape has proven to be very profitable for Jagex, the release of Mechscape can only cause more profit for them.

Although some players lose interest and quit, many continue, and many more join by the day.

Blackmarket trading isn't a problem.

 

I realize it will make more profit for them, as its their new big thing. Worried that a vast majority of rs players, the last bit of a community on rs that is left after the updates sincy wildy, will move to mechscape.

They will make updates for rs, They wont want it to fail. But will the players all run for the new shiny hills? (shiny hills = mechscape)

 

Well, i havent looked at mechscape but it sounds like futuristic runescape and many players like to fight with blades and stuff, not go too futuristic.

mechscape is going to be a new mmo, but not like runescape, its going to be with space ships and all that shit.
Runescape will never die, because there s still people that it.
I wish its not going to be when runescape 2 was released, and almost everyone stopped playing runescape classic.

I'm sure it'll gather both it's own crowd, and crowds from runescape.

Either way, Runescape can't be ending anytime soon.

 

It all depends on the game. If they do the same thing they did with RSC, then yes, it will die out.

Considering the fact that Mechscape isn't horrible.

 

I highly doubt it will, there are way too many players joining everyday for it to just disappear.

 

I think it will die:

Reasons are eventually there will be a new ceo then another and another until one sells out to a bigger company and that company will fail and bam no more runescape

 

These things have been going on for years and yet Runescape thrives.

 

Not really. Haven't you seen the -100k in the online players status? It used to be in the 200K, then like after they took out wildy, it dropped to like 170k.

I like the concept of runescape and think mechscape is dumb from what I've heard.

 

That just means they aren't online. If you look, their membership has grown. They have more members than ever AND they're charging more per membership.

 

Losing money is less important than losing players.

 

I don't think so and will continue for a while because the newer generations will play.
