Romeo and Juliet

What ever happened to the Romeo and Juliet quest?

 

Removed and replaced by Gunnar's Grounds.

 

Oh wow, i never even noticed that they removed it lmao

 

There was a whole article about how newbies thought it was a bad quest and it was just a shitty spinoff of the classic novel, so they replaced it with Gunnar's Ground.

 

I enjoyed that quest tbh.

Oh, they also scraped Sheep Sheerer at the same time.

They scraped sheep shearer? YOU MEAN I NEVER HAD TO DO THAT QUEST??? Bs imo.

They didn't scrap Sheep Shearer, they knocked it down to a 'mini quest', hence it not being on the list any longer.

They just made a stupid excuse, imo, about Romeo and Juliet making a bad first impression in the game. It was one of the best novice quests to be made. I like Gunnar's Ground, don't get me wrong, but there was no point in Romeo and Juliet being removed.

You know what's a bad first impression? How new players start the game now without knowing pretty much ANYTHING, as the newer tutorial didn't teach anything about what the game really is.

 

They knocked it into a Task, not a "mini-quest."

I personally liked Romeo and Juliet, it was my favorite Non-member's quest back in the day. I agree with Glamazonia, that the current lack of a tutorial is shameful. However, the Basic, no requirement tasks do provide a certain way for the new players to "Learn the Ropes." It's not very effective, however.

 

I'm pretty sure there is NO tutorial now....

What is Jagex thinking?

 

I'm actually glad that they decided to get rid of it. Gunnars Ground was a nice change and I got some decent crafting exp after the quest was finished. It would give a better impression to newer players than Romeo and Juilet did.

 

I think Gunnar's Ground does provide a nifty bit of information about the history of the Barbarians, so for that I am glad it was created. I wish they had left Romeo and Juliet in though, I'm a sucker for romance (Shakespeare makes it even better).

 

I'm not really butthurt about the quest being removed.
It values the accounts that's it's done on, as it adds to impossible quest points:3

 

Yea but I think it was even better because it gives newer players more to do, whereas Romeo and Juilet gave off a really dull and generic story. It may have turned new players off a little bit, this this gives a little more incentive for people to keep playing and see the other quests.

Lol the game's freaking horrible. The tutorial kills it.

And what the hell, sheep sheerer.. I HATED that quest soooo damn much.

 

At least they made it so you get 5 quest points from the new one as well.
