Ipod speakers not working?

Well, simple as that, my ipod touch speakers have stopped working, the sound works fine with headphones but when nothing is plugged it theres no sound. I didnt drop it or break it or anything. My friend though was playing with the setting awhile ago and that seems to have been when it stopped,i looked through and couldnt find it though, am i missing something?

This may not be of any help, but my friends had the same issue. However it worked fine with headphones. He couldnt find a way to fix it, so he just bought a dock to listen to it on.

I really can't help you other than it's definitely something in the settings. Keep playing and keep playing with it non-stop and youll find the setting. Check to see if he muted it, changed the volume, or set it to a mode that disables the speakers.

Also, read the ipod touch manual.

I'd help you further but I've never owned one before, so sorry.

 

All I can suggest is backing up all your data on iTunes/Your PC and then restoring to factory settings. If there is still an issue then it's a part thats broken. If your not under warranty then I'm sorry theres not much you can do.

 

It started working again when i updated to iOS4.

Yeah, so it just means that it had something to do with the Firmware and nothing "Physical."

Also, do you have a 2nd Gen iPod touch? Or 3rd Gen? If 2nd Gen, can you upgrade to iOS 4 and get the extra features? Or is that only for 3rd Gen?

 

I have 3rd gen and upgraded and still dont have multi tasking..idk, the only extra feature i have is on my menu the 3 main buttons have reflections and i have airplane mode.

 

Wow, OK. I'm getting one for my B'day in 2 weeks, most likely only an 8GB 2nd Gen and I just wanted to know If I'd get Multitasking and stuff, Oh well I can always Jailbreak and get that stuff. Cheers.
