Mage pking...in F2P?

So I am getting close to 99 dungeoneering. To be honest I am sick of chaotic weapons. I have had staff maul and rapier and lost too many of them. I am sticking with my maul and rapier which I have. I am going to have some token left over and I love F2P pking, so I was thinking about getting gravite staff, off hand mage box and arcane blast necklace. Combine that with some runecrafting items and you have max mage for F2P that can max around 200+50. Has anyone ever tried this at higher levels? I am thinking I would use it just for fun, maybe luring higher levels deep wildy then busting out mage gear when their food runs low and killing them. Other than that I have a G2H which is just scary considering I am a berserker pure with 80 Attack and 99 Strength. Nobody reeally fights me but the ones who do dont live long. What about the gravite rapier or shortbow? Both are slightly more accurate than the scimitar/maple bow, but they seem like an awful lot for a few extra stats. THats why I am putting my tokens on the staff and extra mage gear. Opinions on the magic F2P pking?

 

I would try it, but see if you can kind of F2P brid with it.

 

I really dont want to try F2P bridding. 99% of people use melee which means I could mage them the whole time and they would just run. And I dont really want to give it a try because I dont want to blow 100k+ dungeoneering tokens and regret it. Thats why I am asking if anyone HAS already tried something similar.

meh, is gravite 2h even any good? never really tried it, i know the gravite rapier is basicaly pointless

 

Gravite 2h wrecks. But note, if you're using it on an account that doesn't want defence xp, you'll need to use a rune sword/longsword as a primary, as gravite 2h is only effective on "smash" (3rd attack style), so any other weapon besides a sword will give you defence xp when switching. Got 3 defence this way trying to style switch range 2hing feels bad

What most people tend to forget is how hard it is to get a kill in f2p. I don't think maging in f2p works because:
if you go for an armed fight, you should be able to hit hard but people just run from mages. Binds are shit in f2p and you hit far to low to k0 with mage. Anyway, it's easy just to take of your armor and it gives no disadvantage because you're in robes. If you have a tank mage people will just stroll out of wild if they see they can't it you.
Luring people deeper is also hard because there are almost no noobs pking anymore, and there is no reason to go deeper.

 

Mage spell + Gravite 2h is good combo Try it.
