Need some ASAP Building Pc help :P

    Hello,

As of tomorrow I have a test on how to build a computer. I will get a random motherboard and then I need to search on google for parts (cpu, ram, videocard etc) which are able to run with that motherboard.

I know how to build a PC, however I forgot that part.. If someone could post/ pm or even add me on msn.. That would be wonderfull!

    [email protected]

    Thanks a bunch

Check first what type of cpu the mother board uses, then select one of those. Intel cpus will be like 1155, 772, a few others. Amd cpus will be like am2, am3 or fx1. After that check what type of ram, if its a newer mother board it is most likely ddr3, but it could also be ddr1 or ddr2. After that see what type of hard drive it supports, wether it be 3.0gb or 6.0gb sata. Then check to see if it has any pci express ports incase the motherboard does not have any integrated graphics.

Should say on the board. Look for am3 or 1155 or the such, if not you can google the name and model of the motherboard when you get it and recieve the specifications for it.

Pro tip: Look at the MOBO, there will be a product version and number on it. Go to the manufacturer website and they will have an info sheet on which ram sticks work, which cpu socket it uses, the PCI slot speeds, etc.

It will save you hours of trying to figure things out on your own.

I can help on msn: [email protected]

cpu socket, ammt of RAM pins,

basically the only two iffy parts about building a computer... Anything post-2009ish should be interchangeable.
