Almost scammed $200 on Craigslist, people disagree...

Uhm, going to a corner store near me, they will NOT just allow you to exchange 2 $100 bills... They're not banks and don't operate that way.

Why didn't you just check the bills yourself? It really isn't that difficult. I wouldn't say he attempted to scam you at all.

 

I did, they were older bills. If they were the new ones hell yea I'd take them for they've yet to replicate it to the point it's not easy to see if it's fake. But the old ones are easy nowadays.

If he really did go to any corner store and they said no to trading because he "had to buy something" well he could've just met me at my corner store (literarlly 4 houses down...we could clearly see the store). I used to work at my corner store so I know they always have change, or even at that could just let me use their counterfeit pen...yet he ran off...

BUT that's not even the dead giveaway...he didn't even want to check the phone...first person to buy something and not even look at it. He saw I was twice his size and decided to just do a quick scam and hope he got the better out of it.

That bottom part is definitely a bit suspicious.

 

Craigslist is good if you deal with the right people, talk to them before and meet in phblic places, well lit, populated store, maybe in front of the police station. Also make sure what they know bills you accept and bring a counterfeit pen if you can.

 

Haha that is true, but going all the way to the train station (where the police station is across the street) is a bummer. Then again, I just realized the dead giveaway this dude was trying to scam is that he said he said he asked "3 stores" for change in 5minutes... then was able to drive back at the same time.

We only have 2 corner stores... pizza shop is in a gated plaza so he would've had to do some loops...some people on Reddit need to learn common sense.

Agree. Normally when I trade on there, I bring someone with me and meet in a public area.

 

Take people with you when you trade, always the best advice.

Have to be wary dude...Their is a lot of scamming twats out there...

 

the person you're trading with does seem sketchy; you should ask for more details about them and their payment method [amount] online before you decide to give them ur address and/or meet up in public.
